చెన్నైలోని రాధాకృష్ణ స్టేడియంలో జరిగిన సెమీస్లో భారత్ మొదటి నుంచి ధీటుగానే ప్రత్యర్థిని ఎదుర్కొంది. కాగా పెనాల్టీ రూపంలో భారత్కు తొలి స్కోరింగ్ పాయింట్ వచ్చింది. 19వ నిమిషం వద్ద ఆకాశ్దీప్ గోల్ ద్వారా భారత్ ముందంజ వేసింది. తర్వాత జోరును కొనసాగిస్తూ.. 23వ నిమిషం వద్ద రెండో పెనాల్టీ కార్నర్లో భారత కెప్టెన్ హర్మన్.. జట్టు ఆధిక్యాన్ని పెంచాడు. సగం ఆట ముగిసేసరికి భారత్ మూడు రెట్ల ఆధిక్యంలో నిలిచింది. తర్వాత కూడా భారత ఆటగాళ్లు అదే జోరు కొనసాగించారు. చివర్లో భారత యంగ్ ప్లేయర్ కార్తి సెల్వం.. 51వ నిమిషం వద్ద గోల్ సాధించడం వల్ల భారత్ ఆటను 5 - 0తో ముగించి జయకేతనం ఎగురవేసింది.
