35. UPSOUND (English) Harry, Duke of Sussex:
"Good evening everyone, again. My wife and I feel incredibly privileged to be able to join you once again at this year's WellChild Awards and to be in a room with such amazing human beings. It has been over a decade since I first came to these awards and every year they never fail to surprise and inspire me, yet this year it resonates in a different way because now I'm a father. Last year when my wife and I attended we knew we were expecting our first child. No one else did at the time but we did. And I remember (gets emotional and audience claps) sorry (laughs.) And I remember squeezing Meghan's hand so tight during the awards and both of us thinking, what it would be like to be parents one day and more so what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time. And now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heartstrings in a way I could never have understood until I had a child of my own. No parent wants to hear that their child will suffer, that they will face extraordinary challenges that will affect them throughout their lives, and yet after meeting all the WellChild parents and the kids themselves over the years, you've managed to give all of us a sense of optimism, a sense of hope and strength that no professional, no best-selling book and no amount of advice could ever give any of us. So thank you for being you. "

LEADIN :
It's been a busy year for the Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, which has included the birth of their son Archie in May.
It's also been a difficult year for the couple.
Prince Harry has lashed out at the British media for its treatment of his wife, Meghan, accusing it of hounding her the way it did his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a 1997 car crash while trying to elude paparazzi.
The Duchess of Sussex said her first year of marriage to Prince Harry has been difficult because of the pressure from Britain's tabloid press.
STORYLINE :
It has been a hectic year for Meghan and Harry who married in May 2018.
They spent last Christmas with other members of the Royal Family at Sandringham, attending the traditional Christmas morning service.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to reveal their Christmas plans, but it is thought they won't spend it with the extended Royal family at Sandringham this year.
In January the royal couple attended the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's new show in London, a pregnant Meghan dazzled from head-to-toe in a sequin gown.
At a visit to the Canadian High Commission in London, the royal couple were presented with a box of baby clothes.
The couple's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born on May 6 2019.
Archie is the queen's eighth great-grandchild and is seventh in line to the British throne.
Prince Harry says that he and Meghan will have no more than two children because of concerns for the environment.
However the couple were criticized by the media for flying on private jets this summer while calling for more action on climate change.
In late September and early October Prince Harry, Meghan and their son Archie undertook their first official tour as a family.
The 10-day, multi-country tour also included stops for Harry in Botswana, Angola and Malawi with a focus on wildlife protection, mental health and mine clearance.
The royal baby made a rare public appearance in South Africa.
Meghan held Archie as the royal couple met with Nobel Peace Prize winner and Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town.
In Angola a body armour-wearing Prince Harry followed in the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana, whose walk through an active mine field in Angola years ago helped lead to a global ban on the deadly weapons.
The prince walked through a dusty mine field marked with skull-and-crossbones warning signs, and visited the spot where Diana was famously photographed during her own Africa visit in 1997.
However near the end of his family's ten-day official tour of Africa, Prince Harry launched an attack on the tabloid press in Britain, accusing them of a "ruthless campaign" against his wife Meghan.
The Duchess of Sussex said her first year of marriage to Britain's Prince Harry has been difficult because of the pressure from Britain's tabloid press.
In an interview, the former Meghan Markle told UK broadcaster ITV that her British friends warned her not to marry the prince because of the intense media scrutiny that would follow in his country. But the U.S. television star said she "naively" dismissed the warnings, because as an American she didn't understand how the British press worked.
The royal couple revealed their struggles with the media during the ITV documentary "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey," which followed them on a recent tour of Southern Africa. Both said they had struggled with the spotlight, particularly because they say much of what is printed is untrue.
The 35-year-old Harry did acknowledge there have been some differences between him and his older brother, 37-year-old Prince William, although he said most of what has been printed about a rift between the two has been "created out of nothing".
Harry has lashed out at the British media in the past for its treatment of Meghan, accusing the media of hounding her the way it did his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a 1997 car crash while trying to elude paparazzi. Harry insisted he didn't want such history repeated.
At the close of their African tour, Harry and Meghan each brought separate legal actions against the media.
The duchess sued the Mail on Sunday tabloid, claiming it illegally published a letter she wrote to her father. Harry sued over the alleged illegal interception of voicemail messages by journalists from the Sun, the now folded News of the World and the Daily Mirror newspapers.
Harry, who has joined his brother in promoting a more open discussion of mental health issues throughout society, described his own mental health struggles as being a matter of "constant management".
The Prince became emotional during a speech in October at the WellChild Awards in London.
The Duke of Sussex recalled attending last year's WellChild Awards with wife Meghan when she was pregnant with their son, and no one knew.
Harry got choked up as he spoke and had to regain composure. He explained, "Now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heartstrings in a way I could never have understood until I had a child of my own".
The annual WellChild Awards ceremony honours children with serious illnesses, their families and caregivers.
Harry is a longtime patron and supporter of WellChild.
