హామిల్టన్​ వేదికగా న్యూజిలాండ్​తో జరుగుతున్న తొలి వన్డేలో భారత జట్టు ఆకట్టుకుంటోంది. ఓపెనర్లుగా బరిలోకి దిగిన మయాంక్​ అగర్వాల్​ 32(31 బంతుల్లో; 6 ఫోర్లు), పృథ్వీ షా 20(21 బంతుల్లో; 3 ఫోర్లు) శుభారంభాలను భారీ స్కోర్లుగా మలచలేకపోయారు. ధాటిగా ఆడిన వీరిద్దరూ 4 పరుగుల వ్యవధిలోనే ఔటయ్యారు. గ్రాండ్​హోమ్​ బౌలింగ్​లో పృథ్వీ ఔటవ్వగా... మయాంక్​ సౌథీ బౌలింగ్​లో పెవిలియన్​ చేరాడు.

"I was in this school less than two months ago, and I inspected the school, it is one of the finest primary schools in the republic. It is also lead by some of the finest teachers including the head teacher. I was able to witness children going up and down the stairs. And therefore I am entirely perplexed as to what would have caused the stampede. And as a Christian, I would want the truth at whatever cost and the multiagency team that is investigating this issue will get to the bottom of this."

STORYLINE:
Grief-stricken parents in the Kenyan town of Kakamega broke down on Tuesday as they mourned the 14 children who were killed in a stampede at a primary school.
The cause of the crush is not yet clear, but Kakamega area regional commissioner Anne Ngetich ruled out that a "scare" had sparked the stampede.
Officials said Monday 39 others were also wounded.
According to the school, the children were heading home when the stampede occurred.
The parents wailed and collapsed at the three hospitals where the bodies of the dead and injured were taken.
Professor George Magoha, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education, on Tuesday said he wants the truth "at whatever cost."
Kakemega central area police said an investigation is underway.
Safety in school has become a major concern for Kenyan parents.
Last year Kenyan media reported two deaths from what appeared to be negligence by the schools and the disappearance of two other students.
In September seven primary school students died when their school, which was on a rickety structure, collapsed.
