2. SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Gray, 24, tour guide, says he was part of group who apprehended attacker:
"So me and my colleague Stevie were driving northbound over London Bridge and we sort of came up behind a double decker bus and we noticed several people sort of jumping from the left side of the bridge and into the central reservation and sort of out to the right and sort of just peered our heads around and sort of saw that there was one chap running away from about sort of five guys running him down with sort of a fire extinguisher. So, Stevie and I just thought, you know what to do and kind of ran towards it. Left the cars where they were and then tried to do our best to apprehend the suspect. So when we got there, he was wielding two knives. One was sort of duct taped to his hand. So all I could do, after the guys has sort of held him down, were sort of pinning into the ground, you know, was kind of try to stamp as hard as I could on his wrist, try and, you know, release the knife, as it were. And then someone, sort of, kicked the knife away. Went sort of northbound up London Bridge. And then after that, the police armed response were really, really quick, got there almost instantaneously. And yeah at that point, we were told he had a bomb vest on. So we kind of cleared house and got out the way. And at that point, then, yes, saw the guy get shot a couple of times."

"I had been told when I arrived there, I was kind of wondering what was going on and asked a couple of guys, you know, 'What is going on?'. And they said, well, this guy's, you know, he's just stabbed a couple of women. And then at that point, it was kind of just all holds barred. Just try and get the knives off him and try and stop him from doing any more damage to anybody else."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Gray, 24, tour guide, says he was part of group who apprehended attacker:
"I've got both my cars - are still on the bridge, I don't really know what I'm going to do with those. And Stevie and I, who is the chap I was with, we both did the British thing and went to the pub. Had a pint. Kind of shook it off and then came back here to to let the police know that I was here with the keys to the cars. And I want to move one of them. And I was then escorted down here to give a full statement."
Reporter: "And what were you in London for?"
Gray: "So I'm a tour guide. So I take people on the classic bespoke tours around London in a fleet of classic Mini Coopers. So if you see the two Mini Coopers on the bridge, they're mine. Lily and Betty are their names. Lily is the white one, Betsy is the purplely blue one. Yeah, so that's what I was doing in London."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Gray, 24, tour guide, says he was part of group who apprehended attacker:
"So the six or seven men that were there before me. Hats off to them. Incredibly brave, sort of chasing down the street with a fire extinguisher. And that's what drew our attention to it, you know, we saw this guy being sprayed with with foam. And that's kind of why we just sort of ran at the incident. We just thought it was something serious and that we should do something to try and fix it."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Gray, 24, tour guide, says he was part of group who apprehended attacker:
"So he was he was probably on the deck for a minute or two before the police arrived. And then as soon as the police arrived, like I say, they sort of turned him over. And it was at that point we heard he had a bomb vest on and then it was the police that sort of dealt with him from there. But I believe before he had the chance to get back up on to his feet properly, he was shot once or twice."

STORYLINE:
Tour guide Thomas Gray told UK broadcaster ITN that he was part of the group who detained the London Bridge attacker, before armed police arrived on the scene.
Gray, 24, said he and a colleague were driving over London Bridge, when they saw a man being chased by a group who had armed themselves with a fire extinguisher.
Parking their cars on the bridge, Gray and his colleague ran towards the danger.
When they got to the suspect, Gray said the man already been taken to the floor and was being held down by the group of about five or six men.
He said the suspect had two knives, one of which was taped to his wrist, and Gray tried to stamp on the man's wrist to get him to release one of the knives.
Armed police arrived on the scene "almost instantaneously" and Gray and his colleague moved away, before seeing the suspect shot twice.
Police confirmed the attacker, named as Usman Khan, 28, was shot dead on London Bridge by armed officers.
He had been released on probation last year after serving six years for terrorism offences.
Two people died from injuries sustained in the attack and another three were injured.
