'అర్జున' అవార్డుతో తనను గౌరవించిన భారత ప్రభుత్వానికి కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పాడు టీమిండియా క్రికెటర్ రవీంద్ర జడేజా. దేశం కోసం అత్యుత్తమ ప్రదర్శన కనబరిచేందుకు ఈ పురస్కారం ప్రేరణనిస్తుందని అన్నాడు.

జాతీయ క్రీడా దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా క్రీడాకారులకు అత్యున్నత పురస్కారాలు ప్రదానం చేసింది భారత ప్రభుత్వం. తనకు 'అర్జున' అవార్డు ఇవ్వడంపై టీమిండియా ఆల్​రౌండర్ రవీంద్ర జడేజా ఆనందం వ్యక్తం చేశాడు. భారత ప్రభుత్వానికి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపాడు. ఓ వీడియో ద్వారా తన సందేశాన్ని బీసీసీఐ ట్విట్టర్​లో పోస్ట్ చేశాడు.

"అర్జున' పురస్కారంతో నన్ను గౌరవించిన భారత ప్రభుత్వానికి కృతజ్ఞతలు. అవార్డులు అందుకున్న ఇతర ఆటగాళ్లకు శుభాకాంక్షలు. వాళ్లకు సంబంధించిన క్రీడల్లో విశేషంగా రాణించారు. నాకు దక్కిన ఈ గౌరవం.. దేశం కోసం అత్యుత్తమ ప్రదర్శన కనబర్చేలా మరింత ప్రేరణనిస్తుంది" -రవీంద్ర జడేజా, భారత క్రికెటర్

Reporter: "You are suspending parliament for six weeks. Are you just trying to evade scrutiny?"
Raab: "Well actually, we've had one of the longest parliamentary sittings in I think 400 years. We've been talking about nothing but Brexit. We are going to get a chance to scrutinise all aspects of Brexit between now and the end of October."
Reporter: "But only for about two or three days."
Raab: "One second. No, you are not quite right. There's going to be time before the October Council and after it and I think it's only something like four days less than we would have otherwise had. What we're going to do is leave the EU but also be able to present to the British public all the other things we want to do on police, the NHS and education, and that is really important."
Reporter: "There has been no agreement yet about a recess even, so four days less is not correct."
Raab: "Well that will be the number of days broadly that will be lost. So I think that the idea of this is some kind of constitutional outrage is nonsense. It's actually lawful, it's perfectly proper. There's precedent for it, but actually fundamentally for the people watching this they want to see that we're leaving the EU but also talk about all the other things they expect us to be addressing. That's what this government will be doing."

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab on Friday played down the significance of a suspension of parliament, ahead of the UK's withdrawal from the European Union.
The suspension - or 'proroguing' - has caused massive controversy at Westminster.
But speaking ahead of an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Helsinki, Raab was unflustered.
"I think that the idea of this is some kind of constitutional outrage is nonsense," he said.
