థాయ్లాండ్ ఓపెన్ డబుల్స్ విజేతలైన భారత యువ షట్లర్లు రంకిరెడ్డి సాత్విక్-చిరాగ్ శెట్టి స్వదేశంలో అడుగుపెట్టారు. ఈ ఆటలో ఆడేందుకు యువత మరింత చొరవ చూపాలని హైదరాబాద్లో ఈటీవీ భారత్తో మాట్లాడిన సందర్భంగా చెప్పాడు సాత్విక్.

భారత బ్యాడ్మింటన్లో నయా సంచలనం రంకిరెడ్డి సాత్విక్ సాయిరాజ్. థాయ్లాండ్ ఓపెన్లో మరో ఆటగాడు చిరాగ్ శెట్టి(ముంబయి)తో జంటగా డబుల్స్ టైటిల్ నెగ్గాడీ తెలుగుతేజం. బీడబ్ల్యూఎఫ్ సూపర్ 500 టోర్నీ కైవసం చేసుకున్న తొలి భారత జోడీగా వీరిద్దరూ రికార్డు సృష్టించారు. అంతటి ప్రతిభావంతుడైన సాత్విక్... తూర్పుగోదావరి జిల్లాలోని అమలాపురంలో పుట్టి పెరిగాడు. విజేతలుగా హైదరాబాద్లోని గోపీచంద్ బ్యాడ్మింటన్ అకాడమీలో అడుగుపెట్టిన ఈ ద్వయాన్ని.. ఈటీవీ భారత్ పలకరించింది.

"We are very much concerned about the announced plans by the US to develop and test land-based intermediate range missiles. We are in particular concerned about the remarks made by some of the senior officials of the US administration saying that the US is planning to deploy intermediate range, ground-based missiles in the Asia-Pacific region, "sooner rather than later." And in that respect we call on the US to exercise restraint and I also want to make one point absolutely clear, that China will not stand idly by and we're forced to take countermeasures should the US deploy intermediate range, ground-based missiles in this part of the world."

"China expresses deep regret over the US unilateral withdrawal from the INF treaty. And this is in our view another act of unilateralism, another withdrawal from its international obligations."

"So all these things, the Russian violation and the Chinese having - doesn't have the obligation under the treaty - in our view is pure pretext for the US withdrawal. The real purpose of the US withdrawal is to free its hands, as many of the experts have said, to free its hands and to develop the missile capabilities."

"China has no interest in participating in the so-called trilateral nuclear arms reduction negotiations with Russia or the US. China pursues a peaceful foreign policy and defensive defence policy. China has stuck to its policy of no first use with regard to nuclear weapons. Over the decades, China has exercised maximum restraint in the development of its nuclear capabilities. Given the huge gap between China, between the arsenals of China, the nuclear arsenal of China and that of the US and the Russian Federation, I don't think it is reasonable or even fair to expect China to participate in an arms reduction negotiation at this stage."

STORYLINE:
China said Tuesday it "will not stand idly by" and will take countermeasures if the US deploys intermediate-range missiles in the Indo-Pacific region, which it plans to do within months.
The comments from the Director General of the foreign ministry's Arms Control Department, Fu Cong, came following the US withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty on August 2.
Fu also warned neighbouring countries not to allow the US to deploy such weapons on their territory.
US President Donald Trump's administration has withdrawn from the Cold War-era arms control treaty with Russia in what was, according to Fu, "another withdrawal from its international obligations."
Over the weekend, US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said during security meetings in Asia that he wanted to deploy mid-range conventional missiles in the Asia-Pacific within months.
Australia's defence minister has said that his country will not be a base for the missiles.
Fu said China had no intention of entering into a trilateral arms-control deal with the US and Russia given its relative few nuclear weapons in comparison.
