STORYLINE:
Luca Vildoza led the way with 20 points as Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz beat defending champions Real Madrid 86-76 in an all-Spanish Euroleague match-up on Friday and moved closer to a play-off place.
Vildoza was ably supported by Vincent Poirier, who finished with 19 points, while Johannes Voigtmann added 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Baskonia won for a fourth time in five games.
With two rounds of games to go in the regular season, Baskonia sit sixth in the standings with the same 15-13 record as seventh place Panathinaikos.
Olimpia Milan, in eighth, and Olympiacos, in ninth, both have 14-14 records.
Trey Thompkins and Jaycee Carroll finished with 17 and 16 points respectively for Real, who had already sealed home court advantage in the first round of the play-offs and now have a 21-7 record.
