12. SOUNDBITE (English) Patrick Wilson, actor:
"It's a great addition to the franchise. It was a new thing for us - for me and Vera - to be a part of it, so it was nice to pull it into the time period of the 'Conjuring' world, so that's something that's really new for fans, and you know, it certainly helps if you've seen the other two, but it's completely not necessary at all. So I think fans that have loved the scares, I think that they'll not only get that, they get to see that creepy doll again, but there's a lot more, a lot more humor, a lot more romance too, which is fun."
13. SOUNDBITE (English) Vera Farmiga, actress:
"What it does so beautifully, and this movie also touches on it - there's such beautiful romance that's included. That for me is what makes it very, very special and different than other horror movies."
14. SOUNDBITE (English) Gary Dauberman, writer/director:
"I love comedy in my horror, and I love moments of levity and then, you know, you get them laughing at one scene and then you scare them in the next scene, and I think it feels, I think that scare feels so much more scarier because you were just smiling in the previous scene. So I really like those bright spots, because I feel like they make the darker moments a lot darker."
15. SOUNDBITE (English) James Wan, writer/producer:
'You know, I kind of describe it like it's a girls' version of 'Monster Squad,' and that's what I think is really fun about it is, you know, each of the 'Annabelle' films has a different tone to them and definitely this one is very, very fun."
16. SOUNDBITE (English) Mckenna Grace, actress:
"We bring in a lot of new characters and new ghosts and for me as a big fan of the whole universe, I think that it's really exciting to get to see the ghosts from the Artifact Room, because that's always been something that's really intriguing for me - like, oh, I wonder what's everything, all the stories behind all of those things, because there's so much in the Artifact Room."
17. SOUNDBITE (English) Madison Iseman, actress:
"You know, we got to use a lot of wires and just cool practical things that you don't normally get to do, because you know, demons - so we're, like, being pulled all over the floor and across the Artifact Room, so that was really fun."
18. Medium shot Mckenna Grace
19. Wide shot zoom to medium Madison Iseman
20. SOUNDBITE (English) Mckenna Grace and Madison Iseman, actresses - on whether there were any real-life scares on set:
Grace: "Madison, who's right here - she had to slam the Artifact Room door closed, and we were rehearsing, and she slammed it, and there was a cross that was hanging right next to the door, and Jesus just shot off of it and flew across the room. It was the craziest thing. Do you remember that? Whenever Jesus flew off the cross?"
Iseman: "Oh yes, it was terrifying."
21. SOUNDBITE (English) Madison Iseman, actress:
"Of course, like, when we're actually doing it, there's a whole camera crew in front of us, but there were times when we would end a scene and run upstairs or something, and then you're all alone in the Artifact Room, like, all by yourself, or in Judy's room, and it's weird. It's really creepy, actually."

STORYLINE:
STARS OF 'ANNABELLE COMES HOME' PROMISE SCARES - WITH ADDED LAUGHS
The stars of the latest "Annabelle" movie starring the sinister doll from the "Conjuring" universe say there are laughs as well as scares in store for cinemagoers.
Gary Dauberman, the screenwriter of the "Annabelle" films, "IT," "IT Chapter Two" and "The Nun," makes his directorial debut on the film, and says he loves comedy in horror. "I really like those bright spots, because I feel like they make the darker moments a lot darker," he said at the Los Angeles premiere Thursday night (20 JUNE 2019).
"Each of the 'Annabelle' films has a different tone to them and definitely this one is very, very fun," added writer/producer James Wan ("Saw," "Insidious," "Furious 7," "Aquaman").
In "Annabelle Comes Home," demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren are determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, so bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her "safely" behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest's holy blessing.
But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target: the Warrens' ten-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.
Patrick Wilson ("Aquaman," "The Conjuring" and "Insidious" films) and Vera Farmiga ("The Conjuring" films, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," TV's "Bates Motel") reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Farmiga said the movie contains not just humor, but romance as well. "There's such beautiful romance that's included. That for me is what makes it very, very special and different than other horror movies," she said on the red carpet.
The film also stars Mckenna Grace (TV's "The Haunting of Hill House," "Gifted," "Captain Marvel") as Judy; Madison Iseman ("Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," "Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween") as her babysitter, Mary Ellen; and Katie Sarife (TV's "Youth and Consequences" and "Supernatural") as troubled friend Daniela.
