ఐఆర్సీటీసీ బంపర్ ఆఫర్.. రైలు ఆలస్యమైతే పరిహారం - రైలు ఆలస్యానికి పరిహారం
రైల్వే అనుబంధ సంస్థ ఐఆర్సీటీసీ తన మొదటి రైలు సర్వీసును అక్టోబర్ 5న ప్రారంభించనుంది. ఇందుకోసం ప్రయాణికులకు బంఫర్ ఆఫర్ ప్రకటించింది. దిల్లీ-లఖ్నవూ మధ్య నడిచే తేజస్ ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ ఆలస్యమైతే.. ప్రయాణికులకు పరిహారం చెల్లిస్తామని ప్రకటించింది. దీనితో పాటు ఉచిత జీవిత బీమా, దొంగతనం, దోపిడీలు జరిగితే ట్రావెల్ ఇన్సూరెన్స్ కూడా అందిస్తామని ప్రకటించింది.

రైల్వే అనుబంధ సంస్థ ఐఆర్సీటీసీ దేశంలోనే మొదటిసారిగా ఓ బంపర్ ఆఫర్ తీసుకొచ్చింది. దిల్లీ - లఖ్నవూ మధ్య నడిచే తేజస్ ఎక్స్ప్రెస్లో పయనం ఆలస్యమైతే... ప్రయాణికులకు పరిహారం అందిస్తామని ప్రకటించింది. ఐఆర్సీటీసీ తన మొదటి రైలు సర్వీసును (అక్టోబర్ 5న ప్రారంభం) ప్రారంభించక ముందే ఇలాంటి ప్రకటన చేయడం గమనార్హం.
ఆఫర్ల మీద ఆఫర్లు
రైలు ఒక గంట ఆలస్యమైతే రూ.100, రెండు గంటల ఆలస్యానికి రూ.250 చెల్లించనున్నట్లు స్పష్టం చేసింది. అయితే ఐఆర్సీటీసీ ఈ పరిహారం మొత్తాన్ని ఎలా లెక్కిస్తుందో.. ఏ విధంగా అందిస్తుందో తెలియజేయలేదు.
ప్రయాణికులకు 25 లక్షల ఉచిత బీమాను అందించనున్నట్లు పేర్కొంది ఐఆర్సీటీసీ. రైళ్లో దొంగతనం, దోపిడీలు జరిగితే లక్ష రూపాయల బీమా కూడా అందిస్తున్నట్లు వెల్లడించింది. బోర్డు ట్రైనుల్లో మొదటిసారి ప్రయాణించేవారికి ఇది వర్తిస్తుందని స్పష్టం చేసింది.
ఇలా చేయాలి
ప్రయాణికులు ఆన్లైన్లో అందించిన లింక్ ద్వారా బీమా సంస్థ క్లెయిమ్ ఫారమ్ను పూరించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. లేదా టోల్ ఫ్రీ నెంబర్ ద్వారా రైలు ఆలస్యంపై దావా వేయవచ్చు. రిజిస్టర్ పోస్టు ద్వారా కూడా బీమా కంపెనీని ఆశ్రయించవచ్చు. అవసరమైన పత్రాలు పరిశీలించిన తరువాత రెండు, మూడు రోజుల్లో క్లెయిమ్ పరిష్కారమవుతుందని ఐఆర్సీటీసీ తెలిపింది.

ఐఆర్సీటీసీ మొదటి రైలు తేజస్ ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ అక్టోబర్ 5న ప్రారంభం కానుంది. ఈ ఎక్స్ప్రెస్... దిల్లీ - లఖ్నవూ మధ్య వారంలో ఆరురోజులు నడుస్తుంది.
లఖ్నవూ నుంచి దిల్లీకి ప్రయాణంలో.. ఏసీ ఛైర్కార్ రూ.1,125, ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్ ఛైర్కార్కు రూ.2,310 ఛార్జ్ చేస్తారు. దిల్లీ నుంచి లఖ్నవూకైతే ఈ ధరలు వరుసగా రూ.1,280, రూ.2,450గా ఉంటాయి.
వెండింగ్ మెషీన్ల ద్వారా ప్రయాణికులకు ఉచితంగా టీ, కాఫీ అందించనున్నారు. డబ్బులు చెల్లిస్తే ఆర్ఓ యంత్రాల ద్వారా మంచినీళ్లు కూడా అందిస్తారు.
విమానాల మాదిరిగానే.. ఆన్బోర్డ్ సేవా సిబ్బంది ట్రాలీల ద్వారా భోజనం వడ్డిస్తారు. జపాన్లో ఇదే విధమైన వ్యవస్థ ఉండటం గమనార్హం.

జపాన్, పారిస్ లాంటి నగరాల్లో కనీసం 5 నిమిషాలు రైళ్లు ఆలస్యమైతే.. ఆలస్యాన్ని ధ్రువీకరిస్తూ రైల్వే కంపెనీలు ప్రయాణికులకు సర్టిఫికేట్లు అందజేస్తాయి. వీటిని ఉపయోగించి ఎందుకు ఆలస్యమైందో... తమ కంపెనీలు, పాఠశాలలకు చూపించవచ్చు. యూకేలో అయితే స్వయంచాలకంగా ప్రయాణికులకు పరిహారం అందుతుంది.

"People aren't aware of the industry that goes behind esports. It's very much seen as maybe the music industry was in the 80s, where people thought it was just people playing in their garage. But actually, there's a booming economy and industry behind it, with websites such as Twitch being bought by a million dollars from Amazon and acquisitions such as that. So, I think it's learning about that kind of detail behind it, the same way that if you were to go and study to be a director of football, you're not playing football, but you're learning the business behind it, how transfers work, how you run a stadium and all those kind of operational things."

"I think when I made the decision and moved into teaching, I was met with quite a lot of surprise from even my colleagues in esports who went; 'I didn't realise now that was now a degree option.' "There is absolutely no game play as part of the course. And when the students come in for open days, usually with their parents, and the parents sometimes are a bit; 'Mmmmm okay, I'm not quite sure if this is going to be a great career move.' And then by the end of the first open day session with us, they've realised that actually, we're giving them skills which can be transferred to any industry. It's not just about esports, about all of the skills that we give them to do with communication and problem solving. But also, the huge amount of opportunities in esports then become really apparent to the parents and they realise that their son or daughter is not gonna be playing games on the course, but they're actually gonna be putting on events or organising teams or sorting out tech for events, huge range of different career options open to them. And then they see how much the industry is worth, and then they think; 'Okay, this might be a really good career choice for you.'"

LEADIN:
A number of U.S. and British universities are starting degree programmes in esports, in the latest sign of the industry boom in competitive multiplayer video gaming.
The new degrees aren't about playing games, but rather offer business courses, teaching marketing and management skills with an esports angle.
STORYLINE:
On their first week in class, a group of students is playing a first-person shooter video game in a sleek new digital studio.
It's their introduction to the degree in esports they've all enrolled in.
The group clicking away are at the University of Staffordshire, one of several U.K. and U.S. schools launching programmes aimed at capitalising on the booming industry's need for skilled professionals.
Ryan Chapman, 18, who's starting the course, says his parents were "sceptical at first" about studying esports.
"Now they understand how big the industry is growing, the pace it's growing at, they're now really all for it because it's a great industry to start to get into," says Chapman.
"There's always gonna be risks, but I have zero regrets," says Ellis Celia, 26, who's also starting the Staffordshire course.
"It can only go up at this point."
The University of Staffordshire last year launched its Bachelor's and Master's esports programmes, in which students mainly learn marketing and management skills tailored to the industry.
This autumn, it's expanding the programme to London while other schools are also debuting esports degree courses, including Britain's Chichester University, Virginia's Shenandoah University, Becker College in Massachusetts and The Ohio State University.
In Asia, where esports has seen strong growth, schools in Singapore and China offer courses.
The global esports market is expected to surge to $1.1 billion this year, up $230 million from 2018 on growth in sponsorships, merchandise and ticket sales, according to Newzoo.
The research firm expects the global esports audience to grow in 2019 to about 454 million as fans tune in on livestreaming platforms such as Twitch and Microsoft's Mixer.
Esports tournaments have become a cultural phenomenon and now rival traditional sports events in size and scale.
Big competitions are held in arenas, where thousands of fans watch big-name professional video gamers compete for lucrative prize pools.
Esports leagues have franchises in North America, Europe and Asia.
The biggest names, such as Fortnite superstar Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, can earn millions in prize money and livestreaming deals.
Esports are even set to be a medal event at the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines in November.
Dozens of U.S. colleges have offered varsity level esports competitions for years.
But schools are taking it a step further by adding the new courses as the industry's boom drives demand for skilled professionals who know how to, for example, organise esports tournaments.
The schools emphasise that their courses aren't about just playing video games.
"People aren't aware of the industry that goes behind esports," explains Matt Huxley, a lecturer at Staffordshire University's Digital Institute London. The site is a new outpost that the university, near Birmingham, England, opened so students could be closer to game companies in the British capital.
Huxley, who teaches a class on organising tournaments, says learning about esports is akin to studying sports management.
"If you were to go and study to be a director of football, you're not playing football, but you're learning the business behind it, how transfers work, how you run a stadium and all those kind of operational things," he says.
Students will also learn about the business of competitive gaming and ethical and legislative regulations affecting the industry.
"There is absolutely no game play as part of the course," says Rachel Gower, director of Staffordshire University's Digital Institute London.
"We're giving them skills which can be transferred to any industry. It's not just about esports, about all of the skills that we give them to do with communication and problem solving."
A business focus helps to ease worries among students and parents about paying tuition for degrees that have no track record.
In Britain, standard tuition fees are set at 9,250 pounds ($11,430) a year while the U.S. programmes charge as much as $36,000 a year.
