యూఎస్​ ఓపెన్​లో మరో ఆసక్తికర సంగ్రామానికి రంగం సిద్ధమైంది. గురువారం జరిగిన మహిళల సింగిల్స్ సెమీస్​ మ్యాచ్​ల్లో అమెరికా టెన్నిస్ క్రీడాకారిణి సెరెనా విలియమ్స్, కెనడా యువ తార ఆండ్రిస్కూ ఫైనల్​ చేరారు.

యూఎస్​ ఓపెన్​లో అమెరికా టెన్నిస్​ తార సెరెనా విలియమ్స్​తో పోరుకు సిద్ధమైంది ఆండ్రిస్కూ. న్యూయర్క్​లో గురువారం జరిగిన మహిళల సింగిల్స్ సెమీస్​లో... ప్రత్యర్థి ఐదో సీడ్ స్వితోలినా(ఉక్రెయిన్​)పై 6-3, 6-1 తేడాతో విజయం సాధించింది సెరెనా. మరో సెమీస్​ ఫైనల్లో బెన్సిచ్​పై 7-6, 7-5 తేడాతో విజయం సాధించింది ఆండ్రిస్కూ.

సెరెనా జోరు...

సెరెనా చివరిగా జరిగిన 6 యూఎస్​ ఓపెన్​ టోర్నీల్లో నాలుగుసార్లు ఫైనల్​కు చేరింది. ఇటీవల జరిగిన వింబుల్డన్​లోనూ ఫైనల్​కు చేరినా... 2-6, 2-6 తేడాతో హలెప్(రొమేనియా)​ చేతిలో ఓడిపోయి టైటిల్​ను చేజార్చుకుంది.

గతేడాది జరిగిన ఇదే ఓపెన్​లో ఫైనల్లో నయోమీ ఒసాకా(జపాన్​) చేతిలో ఒటమిపాలైంది సెరెనా. 1968లో ప్రారంభమైన ఈ మెగాటోర్నీలో ఆస్ట్రేలియా దిగ్గజం మార్గరెట్​ కోర్ట్​(24 ట్రోఫీలు) టాప్​లో ఉంది. ఇప్పటివరకు 6 సార్లు విజేతగా నిలిచినా... ఈ తాజా గెలుపుతో కెరీర్​ 24వ గ్రాండ్​స్లామ్​కు రెడీ అయింది సెరెనా. ఒక వేళ ఈ ఫైనల్లో గెలిస్తే మార్గరెట్​ రికార్డు సమమౌతుంది.

మరో సెమీఫైనల్​ మ్యాచ్​లో బెన్సిచ్(స్విట్జర్లాండ్​)​పై 7-6, 7-5 తేడాతో విజయం సాధించింది ఆండ్రిస్కూ. ఈమె ఆగస్ట్​ 8న న్యూయార్క్​ వేదికగా జరగనున్న ఫైనల్లో సెరెనాతో తలపడనుంది.
