PM Modi Congratulates Neeraj Chopra : ప్రపంచ అథ్లెటిక్స్ ఛాంపియన్షిప్లో స్వర్ణ పతకం సాధించిన జావెలిన్ త్రోయర్ నీరజ్ చోప్రాను.. ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ అభినందించారు. అంకితభావం, కచ్చితత్వమే నీరజ్ చోప్రాను ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్గా నిలిపాయని ఆయన అన్నారు. భారత రాష్ట్రపతి ద్రౌపదీ ముర్ము (President Droupadi Murmu) సైతం నీరజ్ చోప్రాను అభినందించారు. ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్గా నిలిచిన నీరజ్ను చూసి భారతదేశం గర్విస్తోందని తెలిపారు. అతడి విజయాన్ని చూసి దేశంలోని లక్షలాది మంది యువత స్ఫూర్తి పొందుతారని అన్నారు. ఇలాంటి విజయాలతో నీరజ్.. మరింత ఎదగాలని కోరుకుంటున్నట్లు ముర్ము తెలిపారు.

"ప్రపంచ అథ్లెటిక్స్ వేదికపై త్రివర్ణ పతాకం రెపరెపలాడిన ఈరోజు భారత్కు ముఖ్యమైన రోజు" అని రిలయన్స్ ఫౌండేషన్స్ ఛైర్పర్సన్ నీతా అంబానీ అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. నీరజ్ చోప్రా స్వర్ణ పతకం సాధించడం తమ కుటుంబానికి, దేశానికి బంగారు క్షణమని నీరజ్ తండ్రి సతీష్ కుమార్ సంతోషం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. తమ కుమారుడు ఈ విజయంతో దేశానికి గుర్తింపు తెచ్చాడని నీరజ్ తల్లి సరోజ్ దేవి అన్నారు.
Neeraj Chopra World Championship : ఆదివారం హంగేరీలోని బుడాపెస్ట్లో జరిగిన ఛాంపియన్షిప్లో పురుషుల జావెలిన్ ఫైనల్లో నీరజ్ చోప్రా పసిడిని ముద్దాడాడు. లిఫయర్స్లో తొలి ప్రయత్నంలోనే నీరజ్ చోప్రా.. బల్లెంను 88.77 మీటర్ల దూరం విసిరి నేరుగా ఫైనల్స్కు అర్హత సాధించారు. ఫైనల్స్లో మొదటి ప్రయత్నంలో విఫలమైన నీరజ్.. రెండోసారి జావెలిన్ను 88.17 మీటర్లు విసిరి ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్గా అవతరించాడు.
దీంతో ప్రపంచ అథ్లెటిక్స్ ఛాంపియన్షిప్లో బంగారు పతకం సాధించిన తొలి భారతీయుడిగా నీరజ్ చోప్రా చరిత్ర సృష్టించాడు. తుది పోరులో నీరజ్తో పోటీ పడ్డ భారత అథ్లెట్స్ కిషోర్ జెనా 84.77 మీటర్లతో 5వ స్థానంలో, డీపీ మను 84.14 మీటర్లతో 6వ స్థానంలో నిలిచారు. పాక్ అథ్లెట్ అర్షద్ నదీమ్ 87.82 మీటర్లు విసిరి వెండి పతకాన్ని సాధించారు. చెక్ రిపబ్లిక్కు చెందిన జాకబ్ వడ్లెచ్ 86.67 మీటర్లు విసిరి కాంస్య పతకాన్ని సాధించారు. ఇదివరకే 2021 టోక్యో ఒలింపిక్స్లో నీరజ్ చోప్రా స్వర్ణ పతకాన్ని సాధించాడు.
