కోహ్లీకి మరపురానిదే కానీ..!

2012, మార్చి18 పాకిస్థాన్​పై విరాట్​ కోహ్లీ తన కెరీర్​లో అత్యుత్తమ స్కోరు నమోదు చేశాడు.​ భారత్​ను ఆ మ్యాచ్​లో విజయతీరాలకు చేర్చాడు. అయితే​ సచిన్​ తెందూల్కర్ ఏడేళ్ల క్రితం సరిగ్గా ఈరోజునే తన కెరీర్​లో చివరి వన్డే మ్యాచ్​ ఆడాడు. ఆ తర్వాత 9 నెలలకు పరిమిత ఓవర్ల క్రికెట్​కు వీడ్కోలు పలికాడు.

సచిన్​కు చివరిది...కోహ్లీకి మరపురానిది

భారత్​-పాకిస్థాన్​ మధ్య ఆసియా కప్​ ఐదో మ్యాచ్​ జరుగుతోంది. తొలుత బ్యాటింగ్​ చేసిన పాక్​ 6 వికెట్లు కోల్పోయి 329 పరుగులు చేసింది. ఆ జట్టు ఓపెనర్లు హాఫీజ్​, నసీర్​ జంషెడ్​ సెంచరీలతో చెలరేగారు .

  • లక్ష్య ఛేదనలో బరిలోకి దిగిన భారత్​కు ఆదిలోనే ఎదురుదెబ్బ తగిలింది. గౌతమ్​ను డక్​ ఔట్​ చేసిన మహ్మద్​ హఫీజ్​ భారత్​ను ఒత్తిడిలోకి నెట్టాడు. ​మ్యాచ్​లో సెహ్వాగ్​ లేకపోవడం ఇంకో లోటు. దాంతో ఇంత భారీ స్కోరును టీమిండియా ఛేదించగలదా అనే అనుమానం వచ్చింది.

ఆ సమయంలో సచిన్​కు జతగా కోహ్లీ తోడయ్యాడు..ఇంకేముంది కొండంత లక్ష్యం కరిగిపోయింది.

"It's a surf sound but you could have called me King of the Jungle because I was raising all of my lions and tigers, preserving the breeds so that they wouldn't be killed off by poachers. When my mountain lion would scream, you could tell my guitar going "wooo!" or my elephant, when it would get time to feed, she would cry to me. Those were the roars of my instrument (slight pause). I'd be sucked up over the top of a, you know, a 12-15 footer and then get sucked back underneath and the roar, and then when I stuck my finger in the wall of a wave, come back across, you go 'cheee-chee' like that. So I would imitate these things."
STORYLINE:
Dick Dale, whose pounding, blaringly loud power-chord instrumentals on songs like "Miserlou" and "Let's Go Trippin'" earned him the title King of the Surf Guitar, has died at age 81.
His former bassist Sam Bolle says Dick Dale passed away Saturday night. No other details were available.
Dale liked to say it was he and not the Beach Boys who invented surf music - and some critics have said he was right.
An avid surfer, Dale started building a devoted Los Angeles fan base in the late 1950s with repeated appearances at Newport Beach's old Rendezvous Ballroom. He played "Miserlou," ''The Wedge," ''Night Rider" and other compositions at wall-rattling volume on a custom-made Fender Stratocaster guitar.
"Miserlou," which would become his signature song, had been adapted from a Middle Eastern folk tune Dale heard as a child and later transformed into a thundering surf-rock instrumental.
