FRENCH STARS SING OF THEIR LOVE FOR NOTRE DAME
French artists sang their love for Notre Dame in Paris on Saturday night during a special fundraising concert that was broadcasted on TV.
Mireille Mathieu performed "Ave Maria" at the event held inside the courtyard of Les Invalides monument.
The 72 years-old French singer encouraged donations for the rebuilding of the Paris cathedral damaged in a fire five days ago.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said she will work to "animate" the cathedral's plazza during the five years of the planned repair works so that local residents, Parisians and tourists alike could monitor the progress.
Other guests included three-time Grammy Award-winning singer Angelique Kidjo and former Paris Opera etoile dancer Marie-Claude Pietragalla.
