భారత్​-బంగ్లాదేశ్​ జట్లు తొలిసారి డే/నైట్ టెస్టుకు సిద్ధమవుతున్నాయి. కోల్​కతాలోని ఈడెన్​గార్డెన్స్​ వేదికగా రేపు(శుక్రవారం) ఈ మ్యాచ్​ జరగనుంది. ఇరుజట్లు ఫ్లడ్​లైట్ల వెలుతురులో గులాబి బంతితో ఆడనున్నాయి. ఈ సందర్భంగా జట్ల బలాబలాలు ఓసారి చూద్దాం.

క్రికెట్​లో టెస్టు హోదా పొందిన టాప్​-10 జట్లలో ఇప్పటివరకు డే/నైట్​ టెస్టు ఆడనివి భారత్​, బంగ్లాదేశ్​ మాత్రమే. నాలుగేళ్ల క్రితమే ప్రారంభమైన ఈ మ్యాచ్​ల్ని అన్ని దేశాలు ఆడేశాయి. తాజాగా భారత్​కు ఆ ఘనతను అందించేందుకు ముందడుగు వేశాడు బీసీసీఐ అధ్యక్షుడు సౌరభ్​ గంగూలీ.

ఇటీవల బీసీసీఐ అధ్యక్షుడిగా బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టిన దాదా... గులాబి బంతితో టెస్టు కోసం భారత కెప్టెన్​ కోహ్లీని, బంగ్లా క్రికెట్ బోర్డును ఒప్పించాడు. భారత్​ పర్యటనకు వచ్చిన బంగ్లాదేశ్​... ముందుగా ఒప్పందం చేసుకోకపోయినా, అనూహ్యంగా దాదా నిర్ణయానికి ఒప్పుకోవడం చర్చనీయాంశమైంది.

ఈ టెస్టు కోసం ఘనంగా ఏర్పాట్లు చేసిన భారత క్రికెట్ బోర్డు.. నూతన అధ్యయానికి ఘనంగా స్వాగతం పలుకుతోంది. అయితే ఫ్లడ్‌లైట్ల వెలుగులో పింక్​బాల్​ కనిపించదని కొందరు.. అలవాటు పడితే కష్టమేమీ కాదని మరికొందరు వాదిస్తున్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా భారత్‌లో తొలి డే/నైట్‌ టెస్టుకు 'సిటీ ఆఫ్‌ జాయ్‌'గా పిలుచుకునే కోల్‌కతా సిద్ధమైంది.

12వ టెస్టు సిరీస్​...

సొంతగడ్డపై టెస్టుల్లో జైత్రయాత్ర సాగిస్తున్న కోహ్లీసేన... ఈ మ్యాచ్​లోనూ గెలిచి మరో సిరీస్‌ను సొంతం చేసుకోవాలని భావిస్తోంది. ఇప్పటికే 11 టెస్టు సిరీస్​లను ఖాతాలో వేసుకుంది భారత్. ఈ మ్యాచ్​ గెలిస్తే వరుసగా మూడో సిరీస్​ను క్లీన్​స్వీప్​ చేస్తుంది​.

ఇటీవల జరిగిన టెస్టు సిరీస్​ల్లో వెస్టిండీస్​(2 మ్యాచ్​లు), దక్షిణాఫ్రికా(3 మ్యాచ్​లు)పై గెలిచి రెండు సిరీస్​లు క్లీన్​స్వీప్​ చేసింది కోహ్లీసేన. ఇప్పటికే బంగ్లాపై రెండు మ్యాచ్​ల సిరీస్​లో 1-0 ఆధిక్యంలో భారత్ ఉంది.

భారత బ్యాటింగ్​ విభాగంలో ఓపెనర్‌ మయాంక్‌ అగర్వాల్ భీకర ఫామ్‌లో ఉన్నాడు. హిట్‌మ్యాన్‌ రోహిత్‌శర్మ ఓపెనర్‌గా రాణిస్తుండటం కలిసొచ్చే అంశం. కెప్టెన్‌ కోహ్లీ, టెస్టు స్పెషలిస్టులు పుజారా, రహానేలతో భారత్‌ బలమైన బ్యాటింగ్‌ లైనప్‌ కలిగి ఉంది.

బంగ్లాదేశ్‌ మొదటిసారి గులాబి బంతితో ఆడనుంది. ఆ జట్టు ఇంతవరకు ఇలాంటి సవాలును ఎదుర్కోలేదు. భారత బౌలర్లు అద్భుతంగా రాణించిన తొలి టెస్టులో అబూజాయేద్‌ మినహా బంగ్లా బౌలర్లు ఘోరంగా విఫలమయ్యారు.

So I thought it was both problematic in terms of the various accounts that he was giving. STORYLINE:
Britain's Prince Andrew was right to step down from his royal duties over his association with convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, former UK justice secretary Lord Falconer says.  
Andrew announced Wednesday he was pulling out of public duties for the foreseeable future amid a firestorm of criticism over his friendship with Epstein.
In a statement, he said he was willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.
The Duke of York has done the right thing by stepping down, Lord Falconer told British broadcaster ITN.
"There are victims who'll have suffered terribly in relation to what Jeffery Epstein definitely did," said the former justice secretary.
He said Andrew's involvement requires proper examining and that "ultimately he and the royal family had no choice but for him to step back from royal duties."
Businesses, charities and educational institutions affiliated with Andrew’s charitable work began distancing themselves from him after he gave an ill-judged interview with the BBC last week justifying his long friendship with Epstein, who died in August while in jail on sex-trafficking charges.
In the interview, Andrew denied having sex with a woman who says she was trafficked by the billionaire financier and had sex with Andrew when she was 17.
But the prince failed to express any sympathy for Epstein’s victims.
And he defended his previous friendship with the billionaire investor because of the contacts it provided when he was preparing for a role as Britain's special trade representative.
The scandal has bloomed into the biggest challenge for Britain’s monarchy since the 1997 death of Princess Diana, when Queen Elizabeth II was accused of appearing aloof and out of touch amid an outpouring of national mourning.
Andrew’s decision to withdraw from public life - unprecedented for a royal in recent decades - came after he consulted his mother, the 93-year-old monarch.
