ప్రపంచకప్లో వెస్టిండీస్కు ఆడుతున్న క్రిస్గేల్.. శుక్రవారం ఇంగ్లాండ్తో మ్యాచ్లో అరుదైన రికార్డు సాధించాడు. వన్డేల్లో ఆ జట్టుపై అత్యధిక పరుగులు చేసిన బ్యాట్స్మన్గా నిలిచాడు. ఇప్పటివరకు ఇంగ్లాండ్పై గేల్ సాధించిన పరుగులు 1,632. శ్రీలంక క్రికెటర్ సంగక్కర 1,625 పరుగులతో తర్వాతి స్థానంలో ఉన్నాడు.

ఈ ఘనత అందుకోవడానికి గేల్ 34 ఇన్నింగ్స్ ఆడితే, సంగక్కర 41 ఇన్నింగ్స్ తీసుకున్నాడు. ఈ జాబితాలో వివ్‌ రిచర్డ్స్‌(1619), పాంటింగ్‌(1598), జయవర్థనే(1562)లు తర్వాతి స్థానాల్లో ఉన్నారు.

STORYLINE:
Dominican authorities on Thursday brought in new suspects and those from the previous day to the police headquarters of Felicidad, all alleged to have been involved with the shooting of former Red Sox star David Ortiz.
The suspects, nine in total including one woman, were taken to the court in a police pickup truck accompanied heavily armed police for their first appearance.
Ortiz was shot in the back at a bar in the Dominican Republic on Sunday.
Speaking to media on Thursday, police General Decena Rojas said the identity of the shooter would be made known and that "the public ministry is putting the final touches on it to be able to present him tonight."
Ortiz is now in a Boston hospital recovering from surgery in both the Dominican Republic and Boston.
