భారత్-బంగ్లాదేశ్ మధ్య రెండో టెస్టు ప్రారంభం ఓ వేడుకలా జరిగింది. బంగ్లాదేశ్ ప్రధాని షేక్ హసీనా, బంగాల్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి మమతా బెనర్జీ గంట కొట్టి మ్యాచ్ ప్రారంభించారు.టాస్ను బంగారు నాణెంతో వేయగా.. మ్యాచ్ మధ్యలో దిగ్గజాలు మైదానంలో కూర్చొని మాట్లాడుకున్నారు. ఆఖర్లో అందర్నీ వాహనాలపై మైదానాల్లో తిప్పారు.

కోల్కతాలోని ఈడెన్ గార్డెన్స్ వేదికగా ప్రారంభమైన భారత్- బంగ్లాదేశ్ మధ్య తొలి డే/నైట్‌ టెస్టు... ఘనంగా ఆరంభమైంది. ఆట వీక్షించేందుకు 40వేలకు పైగా జనంతో మైదానం స్టాండ్లు కిక్కిరిసిపోయాయి. మ్యాచ్ జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు అభిమానులు అరుపులు, కేరింతలతో ఉత్సాహపరిచారు. మైదానంలో హుషారు చూస్తే టెస్టు కాదు వన్డే, టీ20 జరుగుతున్నట్టుగా వాతావరణం కనిపించింది.

LEADIN:
An exhibition devoted to Russian art objects from the mid 19th and early 20th centuries has opened at Moscow's State Historical Museum.
Among the items on display are objects created by the country's most prominent jewellery company at the time, Faberge.
STORYLINE:
Russian artworks from the turn of the 20th century.
Art objects from the era are on display at the "Faberge and Court Jewelers" exhibition in Moscow's State Historical Museum.
After Russia defeated the French invasion in 1812, Russian artists began to find inspiration in nation's cultures, while newly adopted technologies allowed for the development of more advanced production methods.
Among the new generation of artists was Carl Faberge, famous for the be-jewelled eggs he made for the Romanov imperial family in the early 1900s.
In the pieces presented at the exhibition, elements of both Byzantine and the Middle Age Russian traditions can be seen.
"In the 19th-century Russian craftsmen successfully combined both traditions and innovation. So the variety of style compilation on the objects of Russian jewellery art of that time means that the Russian school was very strong. It was prepared to create its own unique art," says Yelena Kruk, the museum's curator.
Art education at the time played a crucial role in creating this new generation of craftsmen who were real artists.
Studying history and foreign art allowed led them to produce unique pieces of art, which were absolutely Russian, says Kruk.
For the purposes of the exhibition, the State Historical Museum restored objects to their original state, thanks to new technology.
The markings on this elaborately decorated cross were illegible before its recent restoration, Kruk says.
"We have washed all the layers that prevented from seeing the real look and original images, so everything we see. All objects at this exhibition, they were restored to their original appearance that allows us to better understand the art of Russian craft makers."
The restoration made it possible for experts to date the cross, produced by P.I. Olovyashnikov's Sons.
Kruk says "According to the images that are in the decor of the object, and which were found during the grand restoration work, we can suppose that this cross was done for the jubilee celebration of the 300 years anniversary of the Romanovs in 1913."
Also on display is work by court jewellers, in those days considered the best craftsmen of their kind - including Faberge.
Most of their work was commissioned by the Imperial court.
All objects displayed at the exhibition belong to the State Historical Museum.
The exhibition is opened until the end of April 2020.
