తమిళంతో పాటు తెలుగులోనూ విపరీతమైన ఫాలోయింగ్ సంపాందిచుకున్న హీరో సూర్య. ఈ హీరో నటించిన 'ఎన్జీకే' చిత్రం మే 31న ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకొచ్చింది. సెల్వ రాఘవన్ దర్శకత్వం వహించడం వల్ల సినిమాపై భారీ అంచనాలు ఏర్పడ్డాయి. కానీ ఈ సినిమా బాక్సాఫీస్ వద్ద బోల్తా కొట్టింది.
పొలిటికల్ డ్రామాగా తెరకెక్కిన ఈ చిత్రం అభిమానులను అంతలా ఆకట్టుకోలేదు. ఈ విషయంపై సూర్య స్పందిస్తూ ఓ ట్వీట్ చేశాడు.
"ఎన్జీకే చిత్రంపై మీ ప్రేమ, ఆలోచనలు, అభిప్రాయాలను ఎంతో గౌరవిస్తున్నా. ఈ చిత్రం కోసం పని చేసిన నటీనటులు, సాంకేతిక నిపుణులకు కృతజ్ఞతలు. ఈ కొత్త ప్రయత్నాన్ని అర్థం చేసుకుని అభినందించిన వారికి ధన్యవాదాలు" అని ట్వీట్ చేశాడు. త్వరలో కేవీ ఆనంద్ దర్శకత్వంలో తెరకెక్కుతున్న యాక్షన్ ఎంటర్టైనర్ 'కాప్పాన్' చిత్రంలో నటిస్తున్నాడు సూర్య.
