"వృద్ధాప్యం శరీరానికే.. మనసుకు కాదు" అని అంటున్నారు తాప్సీ, భూమి ఫెడ్నేకర్‌. వీరిద్దరూ 60 ఏళ్ల వయసున్న షూటర్లులగా నటించిన చిత్రం 'సాంద్ కి ఆంఖ్.' ఈ సినిమా టీజర్ ఆసక్తి పెంచుతోంది. ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్కు చెందిన చంద్రూ తోమర్, ప్రకాశీ తోమర్ జీవితం ఆధారంగా ఈ సినిమాను తెరకెక్కించారు. వీరిని 'షూటర్ దాదీస్' అని ముద్దుగా పిలుస్తుంటారు.

సినిమా కథ ఇదే...

ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్లోని జోహ్రి గ్రామానికి చెందిన చంద్రూ తోమర్‌, ప్రకాశీ తోమర్‌ అక్కాచెల్లెళ్లు. చిన్న వయసులోనే పెళ్లిళ్లు జరగడం వల్ల కుటుంబం కోసమే తమ జీవితాన్ని వెచ్చించారు. తమ కుమార్తెల జీవితాలు అలా కాకూడదని భావించి 50 ఏళ్ల వయసులో తుపాకీ చేతపట్టారు. కూతుర్ల చదువులను అడ్డుకోవాలని చూసేవాళ్లని తుపాకీలతో బెదిరిస్తారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో లక్ష్యం తప్పకుండా దేన్నైనా కొట్టగలిగే సామర్ధ్యం తమలో ఉందని వారికి తెలుస్తుంది. అలా వారు జాతీయ స్థాయి రైఫిల్‌ షూటింగ్‌లో పాల్గొని దాదాపు 300కు పైగా పతకాలు సాధించారు.

ఈ బయోపిక్‌లో నటించడానికి ముందు చంద్రూ, ప్రకాశీల స్వస్థలమైన బాగ్‌పట్‌ జిల్లాకు వెళ్లి కొన్ని రోజులు వారి ఇంట్లోనే ఉన్నారు తాప్సీ, భూమి. చిత్రీకరణ మొత్తం ఆ ప్రాంతంలోనే జరిగింది. ఈ చిత్రానికి తుషార్‌ హీరానందని దర్శకత్వం వహించారు. అనురాగ్‌ కశ్యప్‌ నిర్మాత. దీపావళి కానుకగా ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు రానుంది.

"I am deeply saddened and dismayed by what I have seen here. More than 1.1 million Rohingya refugees are settled here. The way the conditions under which they are living is very poor and very sad. There should be no discrimination whatsoever, particularly based on ethnicities. I hope they will be able to return to their homes. At the same time, I do appreciate the Bangladesh government having taken on a huge responsibility of supporting these very poor and unfortunate people."

"I was so impressed. I have been looking forward to come to Bangladesh because the country is doing so much in development because it is so vulnerable to climate change and because it is doing so much to adapt to it. What I saw was low lying land as far as the eye can see, a lot of water, it is monsoon season, but also roads are elevated so they can sustain the flooding. More and more green belts that protect the inland communities and I also saw that the agriculture is clearly doing well."

"Climate change is however most severely felt in poor countries and by poor people. Unless we act by 2030 there would be 100 million more poor people because of climate change. By 2050 there would be 143 million climate refugees. We ought to work togethe, and the developed world has the financial muscle to push through low-carbon climate-resilient growth."

STORYLINE:
Former U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday he's concerned that monsoon floods could threaten the lives of Rohingya refugees in sprawling camps in Bangladesh.
Ban, who was visiting in his role as head of the Global Commission on Adaptation to climate change, or GCA, said he was "saddened and dismayed" by what he saw while visiting the Kutupalong camp in the southern coastal district of Cox's Bazar.
More than one million Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar are in camps in Cox's Bazar after fleeing military-backed persecution in their home country.
Bangladesh has a history of violent cyclones but has reduced the number of casualties from such natural disasters by investing in roads and other public infrastructure, building cyclone shelters and training volunteers across its vast coastal region, which has the world's largest continuous beach.
However, the U.N. children's agency UNICEF said earlier this week that thousands of families living in the refugee camps and Bangladeshi communities in surrounding villages are at risk from flooding and landslides caused by recent rainfall.
The situation is particularly grim in the camps, though many of the more than 4,000 families affected have been relocated to safer areas, it said.
One 7-year-old boy drowned following heavy rains, and two children were injured, the agency said.
Ban said Bangladesh is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change.
He visited the camps along with the World Bank's chief executive officer Kristalina Georgieva and other commissioners of the GCA, which was initiated by the Netherlands and set up in 2018.
Ban and other GCA leaders could see vast areas under water as they flew on Air Force helicopters from Dhaka, the capital, to Cox's Bazar.
Ban also met with the country's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to discuss efforts to adapt to flooding, rising sea levels and extreme weather.
Georgieva praised Bangladesh's progress in reducing damage and deaths from the monsoon season floods.
The GCA was launched with the support of 17 convening countries including China, Canada and the UK and low-lying countries vulnerable to climate change including Bangladesh and the Marshall Islands.
