STORYLINE:
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has met his Nicaraguan counterpart during an official trip to the Central American nation.
Speaking through an interpreter after he arrived on Sunday, Zarif said Nicaragua and Iran shared a history of fighting against "expansionist policies".
"Both have had success and have triumphed in the face of these expansionist policies," he said.
He arrived in Nicaragua after participating in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) forum in Venezuela.
Zarif is scheduled to travel to Bolivia, where he will meet with President Evo Morales, as part of his tour of Latin America.
