Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen, called the appointment of Chris Silverwood as England's head coach "a brave decision," as he spoke at a sponsor's event on Wednesday in Mumbai.
"with no experience or very limited experience as an international head coach it can be deep waters to swim in to start off with," added Pietersen.
The 39-year-old also took time to praise Australia's Steve Smith, a former teammate of his at Pune in the Indian Premier League.
"He was fantastic in the last Ashes Series and he just grows from strength to strength," said Pietersen.
