There's a district in the Luhansk district where four people with last name Rybalka are on the ballot. There's a district in Odessa where there are four candidates with the last name Baranska. One of the reasons why it's happening is to pull away votes from bigger candidates."

STORYLINE:
The people of Ukraine go to the polls in parliamentary elections this Sunday, and to get them in the mood, a new exhibition has opened up in the capital Kiev.
It's called the Museum of Election Trash, based in a gallery of Ukraine's National History Museum.
The aim is to highlight the enthusiasm with which Ukrainian political parties have sometimes bent the rules to get more votes.
Exhibits include lookalike campaign posters designed to trick people into voting for the wrong candidate, and election bribes ranging from Easter cakes to an entire playground.
Some inducements were worth so little that voters simply couldn't be bothered to take the bait, according to Museum of Election Trash curator Yulia Reshitko.
She points to piles of second-hand low-quality clothes, boxed up with a big banner to identify the candidate who was offering them.
"People didn't take any of it because it's obviously complete trash," she says.
In stark contrast to neighbouring Russia, Ukraine is a vibrant democracy with candidates of all stripes competing for seats and doing it with enthusiasm.
Sometimes by using creative stunts, sometimes by resorting to outright bribery.
But election officials are just shrugging their shoulders, as Ukrainian campaigns have always been colourful affairs, and Sunday's elections will be no different.
Museum curator Yulia Reshitko says electoral bribery will remain a feature of Ukrainian elections as long as millions of people continue to struggle to make ends meet.
For example, there's the traditional buckwheat package.
Buckwheat is a stable food for millions of Ukrainians, and various candidates have for years handed out boxes of free food, featuring buckwheat, to the impoverished voters.
But candidates now appear to be raising their game.
The most recent trend in Ukraine's election campaigning is free tickets to music concerts.
"Whereas in the past, things like oil and buckwheat where enough for people, now they want not just bread but entertainment too," she notes.
Ukrainian election officials this year registered a record 5,967 candidates running for 424 seats in parliament.
This year, the election has been dubbed the "Battle of Clones" as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and his Servant of the People party are running against dozens of copycats.
At least 86 contenders have put out literature suggesting they are "Servant of the People" candidates when in fact they are running for other parties.
And to make things more confusing still for voters, eight candidates are registered as having the surname Zelenskiy, the same as the president.
In a sign that the "Battle of Clones" represents a genuine worry for the ruling party, which is forecast to secure half of all votes, Zelenskiy last week recorded a video statement urging voters to be careful not to vote for the copycats.
The Obukhiv voting district, in the Kiev region, has become infamous for political impostors.
Some are using billboard designs, political slogans and colour schemes that are similar to those used by the Servant of the People party.
Others seek to confuse voters by registering candidates with a similar name to leading candidates such as Oleksandr Dubinsky from Servant of the People party.
President Zelenskiy regards copycat candidates as an unfortunate fact of political life.
"We have a lot of foul play, a lot of scammers," he said this week.
