బంగారం ధరలు తగ్గుముఖం పట్టాయి. అంతర్జాతీయ పరిణామాలు, డాలర్ విలువ బలపడటం వంటి ప్రధాన కారణాలతో మంగళవారం ఒక్కరోజే పసిడి ధర రూ.600 దిగొచ్చింది. బులియన్ మార్కెట్ ముగిసే సమయానికి దిల్లీలో 10 గ్రాముల ధర రూ.34,870గా ఉంది.

వెండి ధర రూ.48 తగ్గింది. కేజీ రూ.38,900గా ఉంది.

డాలర్ విలువ గత మూడు వారాల గరిష్ఠానికి చేరడం, ఫెడరల్ వడ్డీ రేట్ల తగ్గింపుపై ఆశలు సన్నగిల్లడం పసిడి ధర దిగిరావడానికి కారణమని విశ్లేషకులు తెలిపారు. పసిడి కొనుగోలుకు రెండో అతిపెద్ద వినియోగదారులు గల భారత్లో సుంకం పెంపుతో డిమాండ్ తగ్గిపోవడమూ మరో కారణమని చెప్పారు.

గతవారం ప్రవేశ పెట్టిన వార్షిక బడ్జెట్లో పసిడి, ఇతర విలువైన ఆభరణాలపై 10 శాతంగా ఉన్న కస్టమ్స్ సుంకాన్ని 12.5కు పెంచింది కేంద్రం.

STORYLINE:
Tehran residents have mixed feelings about the country's decision to enrich uranium to 4.5%, just breaking the limit set by its nuclear deal with world powers.
Iran acknowledged the breach on Monday, while it is still seeking a way for Europe to help it bypass US sanctions amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington.
The acknowledgement shows that the Islamic Republic is trying to increase pressure on those still in the 2015 nuclear deal.
It also comes just days after Iran acknowledged breaking the 300-kilogram (661-pound) limit on its low-enriched uranium stockpile, another term of the accord.
Some Iranian residents believe it was the only option while others say Iran shouldn't have accepted the deal in the first place.
"We should have done this (pulling out of nuclear deal) much sooner. We shouldn't have accepted the deal in the first place. It was obvious that America had no commitment and it was all a game," said Tehran local Mostafa Irannejad.
The International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nation's nuclear watchdog, confirmed that Iran surpassed the enrichment threshold.
Experts warn that higher enrichment and a growing stockpile could begin to narrow the one-year window Iran would need to have enough material for an atomic weapon, something Iran denies it wants but the deal prevented.
While the steps now taken by Iran remain quickly reversible, Europe so far has struggled to respond.
