"As I'm approaching that bus zone I saw somebody who looked like they were running from the bus stop, a guy was running, and he tripped and fell and just face planted the pavement and I just thought 'oh no the guy's probably hurt but we're going to have to call and he's going to need medical attention.' He hit the ground hard and so I kind of stopped a little bit. I saw him roll over on his back. And his arm was out to the side and I'm like, is that a gun in his hand?"

"He stood up. This is the surreal part. He stood up and like very calmly he stood up, he got into - I know a little bit about shooting - ge got into like a weaver stance, a shooting stance and very calmly like took aim and then I heard the report of the gun and saw the glass come through the windshield and felt the bullet hit me. That's when I said to myself I think I said out loud 'I think I've been shot'"

"I feel blessed. I guess if you want to call it lucky. Yeah. I do. God was watching out for me and the folks on my bus. For sure. The thing that bothers me the most about this is I knew that if we got out of there, if we were no longer a target he was gonna go after somebody else. And he did. And that upsets me. But there's nothing I could do. I did the best thing that I could do at the time and thank god nobody on my bus was hurt.

"Absolutely. In fact I want to get back to work as soon as possible. Because it was totally random. It was not related to my work at all. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And I was the biggest target. I came around the corner and here's this big bus and this guy just wanted to presumably shoot at somebody or kill somebody. There's a big target."

STORYLINE:
A man accused of randomly shooting at cars and a public bus in Seattle, leaving two people dead and two injured, told police afterward that he was in an alcoholic blackout and didn't remember doing it, authorities said in court documents Friday.
Tad-Michael Norman, 33, was charged in King County Superior Court with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder in the Wednesday afternoon rampage. He was being held without bail. It was not immediately clear if he had obtained a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
Bus driver Eric Stark said the gunman fired into his windshield, striking him in the chest. After taking stock of his injuries and hitting an emergency alert, Stark managed to reverse the bus away and turn it around, getting his passengers to safety. He told reporters from his hospital bed Friday that the shooter acted "calmly."
Hassan was a retired physician and Air Force colonel, his brother told The Seattle Times.
Norman did not appear to have any criminal history in Washington state. He was a vendor with Microsoft, and his contract ended last year, a company representative said.
