2. SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Teskey, Josh Teskey and Liam Gough, recording artists, The Teskey Brothers – on touring in the U.S.:
Josh Teskey: "It's amazing country to drive around, you know. It's an incredible place and it's an amazing place to tour because unlike, you know, Australian touring for us it's really… you've got so many destinations and so many venues, so many cities within close proximity, you know, so you can, you literally can play a show, you know, drive three hours on to the next, you know, next fantastic venue and night after night… It's the most kind of classic touring that we've done before because, you know, you're literally driving around, working your way around the coastline that we kind of worked our way up the, up the west coast and up across the top and up into Canada, pop up into there, then back down the East Coast and you can really systematically tour that country, you know. It's an amazing thing. You know, the real dream is to have a have a tour bus over there. We're looking forward to getting on that. We haven't quite done it yet but the next run in September, we're going to have the, you know, the classic kind of rock and roll moment where you, you know, have the tour bus…"
Gough: "Woah, blues and soul."
Josh Teskey: "Blues and soul, not rock and roll, we play blues and soul people, don't forget."
Gough: "Little bit of rock and roll."
Josh Teskey: "Little bit of rock and roll. We like to get a bit naughty as well."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Teskey, Josh Teskey and Liam Gough, recording artists, The Teskey Brothers:
Gough: "We've had to learn how to look after ourselves and you can't treat every night as a Saturday night because you'll just start falling apart. But yeah, we're learning. It's been two years of touring now and we're learning how to pace ourselves and pick our nights to really let loose. But the most important part of the day is that hour and a half hour we're on stage for. It's like, we all look forward to it, that's the most important thing and any fun on the side of that is a bonus really."
Josh Teskey: "Yeah. Yeah."
Sam Teskey: "Yeah. It's good to try and eat healthy as well, you know, try and get all the good food in you."
Gough: "Which is hard on the road. Like in the States we had a hard time trying to eat healthy but, because we love good food. But…"
Josh Teskey: "But everyone's individuals, you know, we all have our way of, you know, you finish some of the, finish the show and you have to get some sleep. I mean, we've got some people that are walking miracles like Ernest, our trombone player, he somehow manages to stay up pretty late and get up in the morning and do it all again every single night."
Sam Teskey: "Yeah. Every day, yeah."
Josh Teskey: "So everyone's an individual and, yeah, you know he was a, you know…he kind of, he kind of comes alive at about five o'clock whereas some of us are more morning people."
Gough: "Yeah, yeah. A true road warrior."
Josh Teskey: "He is a true road warrior. Yeah, so, yeah you definitely got some walking miracles around in the music industry."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Teskey, Josh Teskey and Liam Gough, recording artists, The Teskey Brothers – on their fans:
Gough: "We get all ages. We've had, you know, three generations at some gigs and you don't know who's brought who. Someone's found the music first but they've either brought, you know, their kids along or, you know, their grandparents along, or their parents. And it's amazing, you'll meet these people after shows and yeah, they're just from all walks of life as well, yeah."
Sam Teskey: "It's a family band isn't it."
Josh Teskey: "And it says a lot about, I think, this genre of music and this this type of music we're playing is that it is timeless. You know, it's a little bit… you know, there's a famous line from Otis Redding where he says, you know, rhythm and blues has been here 100 years and it's going to stay here too. You know, it's never going anywhere, it's this kind of stuff that we all are connected to it in one way or another. And it's, we've all lived through it so it's this kind of, I love how we have that, you know, all different age groups, all different people in the audience."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Teskey, Josh Teskey and Liam Gough, recording artists, The Teskey Brothers – on their fans:
Josh Teskey: "I always tell the story how I'll meet like a son or a daughter who's brought their mom or dad along, or we meet parents that have told their kids about it and brought their kids along, as you were saying before. So it kind of, it works both ways. And it's something really cool about that. And that seems to be the same everywhere we tour. You know, so that seems to be that same…"
Gough: "Generation span."
Josh Teskey: "Yeah, generation in each city we go to, which I, I love that. I love that we're not one kind of particular, it's not, it's connecting with all ages."
Sam Teskey: "Music for everyone."
Gough: "And that's important in today's age of music. I think a lot of people, like a lot of acts have to go out there and tour pretty hard and sell tickets, that's how you make money. It's not through album sales, necessarily. That might change but it's, yeah, we're really lucky to have that breadth of…"
Sam Teskey: "Have a wide demographic, so therefore we've got a bigger audience."
Gough: "More bums on seats, yeah."
Josh Teskey: "Absolutely, absolutely."

STORYLINE:
AUSTRALIAN BAND THE TESKEY BROTHERS HIT THE ROAD
Blues and soul outfit The Teskey Brothers have been taking their old school sound on the road.
The Australian fourpiece has just completed a string of dates across America, which lead vocalist Josh Teskey says was "an amazing place to tour".
"It's the most kind of classic touring that we've done before because, you know, you're literally driving around, working your way around the coastline".
Brothers Sam and Josh Teskey, plus childhood friends Liam Gough and Brendon Love, grew up in The Yarra Valley, just outside Melbourne. As teenagers they discovered a shared love of 1960's American soul music and started out busking and playing parties together.
They went on to record and produce their 2017 debut album "Half Mile Harvest" in their home studio.
At the moment, the band is busy with a series of U.K. and European summer gigs and festivals, so have had to learn how to look after themselves on the road.
"You can't treat every night as a Saturday night because you'll just start falling apart," says drummer Gough.
"It's been two years of touring now and we're learning how to pace ourselves and pick our nights to really let loose. But the most important part of the day is that hour and a half hour we're on stage for. It's like, we all look forward to it, that's the most important thing and any fun on the side of that is a bonus really."
When it comes to their audiences, Josh says the music is "connecting with all ages."
Gough adds, "We've had, you know, three generations at some gigs and you don't know who's brought who."
"It says a lot about this genre of music and this type of music we're playing is that it is timeless." Josh adds.
The Teskey Brothers can be seen live this month in Germany, Netherlands, the U.K before heading to the U.S. in September.
The band's new album, "Run Home Soon," is set for release on 2 August.
