STORYLINE:
In a commuter area outside London, Labour activists are battling to unseat UK prime minister Boris Johnson who is defending one of the smallest constituency majorities for nearly 100 years.
Voters are deciding Thursday who they want to resolve the stalemate over Brexit in a parliamentary election that is being seen as the most important since the end of World War II.
The contest pits Johnson, who says he will take Britain out of the EU by January 31 against opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn who promises another referendum on Brexit.
And one of the fiercest battles is in Uxbridge.
In 2017 Johnson won the seat with a majority of 5,034.
It is the smallest majority of any sitting prime minister since 1924.
Labour has targeted it as a major battle ground and has dispatched thousands of activists to the area, many travelling hundreds of miles from around the country.
