నేరాన్ని అడ్డుకున్నందుకు ట్రాఫిక్ పోలీసుపై దాడి

బిహార్లోని ముజ్ఫర్పుర్లో ఓ ఆటోడ్రైవర్ పోలీసుపై దాడి చేశాడు. ట్రాఫిక్ నిబంధనలను ఉల్లంఘించాడని అడ్డుకోవడమే దీనికి కారణం.

ట్రాఫిక్ నిబంధనలను ఉల్లంఘించాడని అడ్డుకున్నందుకు ఓ పోలీసును చితకబాదాడు ఓ ఆటో డ్రైవర్. అతనికి మరికొందరు తోడయ్యారు. మూకుమ్మడిగా పోలీసుపై పిడిగుద్దులు కురిపిస్తూ తీవ్రంగా దాడి చేశారు. కింద పడేసి ఇష్టం వచ్చినట్లు తన్నారు. ఈ ఘటన మంగళవారం రాత్రి బిహార్లోని ముజ్ఫర్పుర్లో చోటుచేసుకుంది.

అఘోరియా బజార్ చౌక్ వద్ద నిషేధిత మార్గంలో వెళ్తున్న ఆటోను విధుల్లో ఉన్న పోలీసు అడ్డుకున్నాడు. ఆగ్రహించిన ఆటో డ్రైవర్, అతడి స్నేహితులు కలిసి ఆ పోలీసుపై దాడి చేశారు. చుట్టుపక్కన వారు వారించే ప్రయత్నం చేసినా డ్రైవర్ ఆగలేదు. అతన్ని కొట్టుకుంటూ కొంతదూరం లాక్కెళ్లారు. ఇంతలో కొందరు స్థానికులు అక్కడికి చేరుకున్నారు. పోలీసులు రాగానే అక్కడ్నించి పరారయ్యారు దుండగులు. దాడిలో గాయపడ్డ పోలీసు సమీప ఆసుపత్రిలో చికిత్స పొందుతున్నాడు. నిందితుల కోసం పోలీసులు గాలిస్తున్నారు.

"Basically, we are looking at three different things: We are looking at how climate change has affected vegetation, we are looking at how climate change is affecting the snow and water availability for local people and then how it is affecting local people. The way we do that is we just go out and measure what's happening. It is very easy to do things from a distance, but to actually get out there and measure things in the field is better. So we have what is called a spectrometer and we just are going to measure the light that reflects off the glaciers and use that to determine how much dirt is on top of the glaciers because the more dirt there is the more pollution that's accumulated on them and then the more light absorption there is. And so, thus the larger impact on the glaciers, they're going to melt more quickly."

"In terms of our itinerary, we are going to begin by going to Makalu Barun National Park, to the Hinku Valley. And I visited there 10 years ago. And so coming back 10 years later we can look and see how climate and other things have changed and how it's impacted that valley. And then because that one is a not very visited valley, we can compare it to the Khumbu Valley where lots of tourists go to see how different parts of the Himalayas are affected by climate change, pollution and other factors."

STORYLINE:
A team of American scientists has flown to the Mount Everest region to study how pollution has impacted the Himalayan mountains and glaciers which are melting due to global warming.
The team led by John All of Western Washington University plans to spend the next two months in the region and climb the world's highest peak in May while they collect samples and study the ice, snow and vegetation.
The team plan to bring the samples and data and study with local university and government agencies in Nepal.
They'll compare the current data to data the professor collected on a 2009 visit.
They plan to study the colour and mineral content of the snow and ice on the mountains while collecting plans and other vegetation on the foothills.
