STORYLINE:
New Zealand eased past USA 21-5 on Sunday to win the Sydney Rugby Sevens title.
First half tries from Regan Ware and Sam Dickson saw them build a commanding 14-0 lead.
They stretched that to 21-0 early in the second half when Tone Ng Shiu scored, and although Brett Thompson contributed a try of his own to put the USA on the scoreboard, they never seemed likely to reel their opponents in.
It was a frustrating fourth straight final loss for the USA who had beaten England 14-7 in the semi-finals.
New Zealand thrashed Fiji 36-14 in their semi-final, ending a 22-game winning streak for the Pacific Islanders who were reduced to six players following a red card to Sevuloni Mocenacagi for a dangerous tackle.
The USA beat England 14-7 in their semi-final, with England still finishing on a high by beating Fiji 19-17 for the bronze medal.
The title for New Zealand made it a clean sweep for their sides in Sydney - earlier in the day the Black Ferns cruised to victory with a thumping 34-10 win over the Australian women.
