పరిచయ వేడుకలో ఆస్కార్​ నామినీల సందడి

91వ అకాడమీ అవార్డుల ప్రదర్శనలో ర్యాంపుపై సందడిచేయనున్నారు ఆస్కార్​ నామినీలు. మరి అంత వైభవంగా జరిగే వేడుకకు ముందు ఒకరికొకరు పరిచయం లేకపోతే ఎలా.. అందుకే వారందరి కోసం పార్టీ నిర్వహించారు.

91వ అకాడమీ అవార్డుల ప్రదర్శనలో ర్యాంపుపై సందడిచేయనున్నారు ఆస్కార్​ నామినీలు. ఫిబ్రవరి 24న జరిగే మూడు గంటల వేడుక కోసం ముందుగా సన్నద్ధం కావాలి కదా.. అందుకే ఆస్కార్‌ ఫిలిం అకాడమీ అధ్యక్షుడు జాన్​ బైలీ ఓ ప్రైవేటు కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహించారు. కార్యక్రమంలో ఆస్కార్​ బరిలో ఉన్న నటీనటులంతా పాల్గొన్నారు.

విజేతలను ప్రకటించేటప్పుడు ఎలా ఉంటుందో కొందరు ఉత్సాహంగా వివరించారు. కార్యక్రమానికి ఉత్తమ నటీమణులుగా నామినేషన్​లో ఉన్న గ్లెనెన్​ క్లోజ్​, లేడీ గాగా, దర్శకురాలు సైక్​ లీసా, నటులు మహెర్షలా అలీ, రమీ మాలిక్​ వంటి ప్రముఖులు హజరయ్యారు. ఫొటోలకు ఫోజులిచ్చారు.

"Even if it was not my intention because my intention for what I was doing in the film was to just do a film about the two women that raised me, the film has raised conversations and I'm very happy that the film has been emotionally embraced by audiences all around the world in a very deep, emotional way and that they embrace the central character of this film who is a domestic worker from indiginious background and in this day in age of which there is so much rhetoric about separation and the other, the danger that represents the other, the fact that these characters (are) embraced in such a strong way, really moves me. Now I completely 100% agree with you about the danger about these rhetoric of walls, they don't work. They're just symbols of one ideology but they are just, if they attempt to waste all that money would be just for a symbolic value rather than something real. Nevertheless there are other walls and I hope that the film talks about that, that are as dangerous and damaging. Those are the invisible walls. Those invisible walls that exist in society. The ones that those individual walls that we have between social classes and ethnical backgrounds and yes, it's very important to stand against that physical wall that is absurd but there is one that we have a lot of control (over) and that we can really make a significant change, that is trying to erase those invisible walls."

"Just hanging out with Spike (Lee), that is, you know I know him through the years and this is the great thing. I know him through the years, we always like bump into each other and "hi, how are you doing?" This process has allowed us to spend more time together, you know? And really to sit and chat. He's a filmmaker that pretty much guided me and he's at least in my generation, he was a fundamental director in which you would see that he was doing this, had this independent voice, doing films that were very specific and that were fearless and when you're trying to put together your first film and you see his early films, you can just nothing but try to emulate him and it's so great when you sit and you start talking about backgrounds and references and realize that even our, that what changes maybe hte color of the references but the experiences are almost the same and we're talking about specifically the social political references. The other thing that is fantastic is you're trying to talk to him about cinema and he's trying to talk about sports (laughs.) That's something that's great of Spike. He has way more respect for sportsmen than filmmakers"

"This process I've been hanging out with him and realize how our reasons to make cinema in terms of the filmmakers that we love are very, very close and very connected. We've been collaborators on each other's projects for a long, long time."
