విజేందర్​ X స్నైడర్.. సూపర్​ ఫైట్​కు సర్వం సిద్ధం

భారత బాక్సర్ విజేందర్ సింగ్ అమెరికాలో మ్యాచ్ ఆడనున్నాడు. ఆ దేశానికి చెందిన మైక్ స్నైడర్​తో అమీతుమీ తేల్చుకోనున్నాడు. ఆదివారం ఉదయం 4 గంటలకు భారత్​లో ప్రత్యక్షప్రసారం కానుంది ఈ పోరాటం.

భారత స్టార్ బాక్సర్ విజేందర్​ సింగ్ అమెరికాకు చెందిన మైక్ స్నైడర్​ను ఢీ కొట్టనున్నాడు. యూఎస్​లో తొలి మ్యాచ్​ ఆడనున్న విజేందర్​ శనివారం మైక్​తో అమీతుమీ తేల్చుకోనున్నాడు. 8 రౌండ్లు జరగనున్న ఈ పోటీ భారత్​లో ఆదివారం ఉదయం నాలుగు గంటలకు ప్రత్యక్ష ప్రసారం కానుంది.

"ఇది మంచి పోటీ అవుతుందనుకుంటున్నా. ఈ ఏడాది ఇంకో రెండు పోట్లీల్లో పాల్గొంటా. నా ప్రత్యర్థి ఎత్తుగడలపై పూర్తి అవగాహన ఉంది. శనివారం జరగబోయే మ్యాచ్​లో వ్యూహాలపై మా కోచ్ లీ బియర్డ్​తో చర్చించా. తొలి రౌండ్లోనే అతడిని నాకౌట్​ చేసేందుకు సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నా" -విజేందర్ సింగ్, భారత బాక్సర్​

మైక్ స్నైడర్​ కూడా ఈ మ్యాచ్​ కోసం ఆతృతగా ఎదురుచూస్తున్నాడు. 21 బౌట్లు ఆడిన స్నైడర్ 13-5-3 రికార్డుతో జోరు మీదున్నాడు. భారత బాక్సర్​ను ఓడిస్తానని ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం వ్యక్తం చేశాడు.

"నేను విజేందర్ సింగ్ ఫైట్లు చూశాను. అతడి బలాలు, బలహీనతలపై స్పష్టమైన అవగాహన ఉంది. నేను గెలవలేను అని అన్నప్పుడల్లా గెలిచి చూపించాను. వారి(ప్రజల) అంచనా తప్పని చూపించడం నాకిష్టం. విజేందర్​పై తప్పకుండా గెలుస్తా" - మైక్ స్నైడర్​, అమెరికా బాక్సర్​

ప్రొఫెషనల్ కెరీర్లో 10 బౌట్లు ఆడి అన్నింటిలోనూ విజయం సాధించాడు విజేందర్​ సింగ్​. ఇందులో ఏడు నాకౌట్లు ఉన్నాయి. దాదాపు ఏడాది విరామం తర్వాత రింగులోకి అడుగుపెట్టనున్నాడు విజేందర్.

"I therefore want to confirm to the House that all relevant decisions in respect of this matter were taken as a direct result only of the Government if Gibraltar having reasonable grounds to believe that the vessel was acting in breach of established EU sanctions against Syria. There has been no political request at any time from any Government that the Gibraltar Government should act or not act, on one basis or another. The information which related to the alleged Syrian destination of the vessel and its cargo legally required Gibraltar to take the necessary action once the vessel freely entered the jurisdiction."

"These important decisions about breaches of our laws were certainly not decisions taken at the political behest or instruction of any other state or of any third party. In nations governed by the rule of law, decisions about the application of laws relating to what are potentially criminal offences are decision made based on facts and legal analysis and are not decisions made on the basis of political requests, whoever the requesting party may be."

STORYLINE:
There has been no political request at any time from any Government that the Gibraltar Government should seize an Iranian supertanker last week, the head of Gibraltar's government said on Friday.
"These important decisions about breaches of our laws were certainly not decisions taken at the political behest or instruction of any other state or of any third party," Chief Minister Fabian Picardo told the parliament of Gibraltar, a British overseas territory, in a statement on Friday.
The ship was intercepted by British Royal Marines off the southern tip of Spain on July 4. Iran's state-run IRNA news agency at the time called the incident "an illegal seizure of an Iranian oil tanker."
A senior Spanish official said the operation was requested by the United States, but Picardo says no other government asked Gibraltar to act.
He said the ship is suspected of breaching European Union sanctions on Syrian President Bashar Assad's government.
