భారీ లక్ష్య ఛేదనను భారత్ ఘనంగానే ఆరంభించింది. ఓపెనర్లు అభిషేక్ శర్మ (61), సాయి సుదర్శన్ (29) దూకుడుగానే ఆడారు. కానీ ఇన్నింగ్స్ తొమ్మిదో ఓవర్లో సుదర్శన్ను అర్షద్ ఔట్ చేశాడు. అయినప్పటికీ మరో ఓపెనర్ అభిషేక్ స్కోరు బోర్డును పరుగులు పెట్టించాడు. 20 ఓవర్లు ముగిసేసరికి భారత్ 132/3తో నిలిచింది. రన్రేట్ మెరుగ్గా ఉండటం వల్ల భారత్ గెలుపుపై అందరికీ ధీమా ఉంది.

అప్పటి వరకూ విజయావకాశాలు కూడా ఇరుజట్లకు సమాన స్థాయిలోనే ఉన్నాయి. కానీ అప్పటి నుంచి భారత్ ఇన్నింగ్స్ గాడీ తప్పింది. క్రమం తప్పకుండా వికెట్లు పారేసుకుంది. కెప్టెన్ యశ్ ధుల్ (39) ఫర్వాలేదనిపించినా.. మిడిల్ ఆర్డర్ ఘోరంగా విఫలమయ్యింది. బ్యాటర్లు ఇలా వచ్చి అలా పెవిలియన్ చేరారు. భారత్ 67 పరుగుల వ్యవధిలోనే చివరి ఆరు వికెట్లు కోల్పోయింది. కాగా పాకిస్థాన్ బౌలర్లలో ముఖీమ్ 3, ముంతాజ్ 2, అర్షద్ 2, వసీమ్ 2, ముభాషిర్ ఖాన్ తలో వికెట్ తీశారు.
