భారత్​కు ఆడిన కీలక ఆటగాళ్లలో సురేశ్ రైనా ఒకడని గంగూలీ తెలిపాడు. అతడి భవిష్యత్తు బాగుండాలని శుభాకాంక్షలు చెప్పాడు.

పరిమిత ఓవర్ల క్రికెట్​లోని కీలక ఆటగాళ్లలో సురేశ్ రైనా ఒకడని అన్నాడు బీసీసీఐ అధ్యక్షుడు సౌరభ్ గంగూలీ. తన అద్భుత బ్యాటింగ్​తో, లోయర్ ఆర్డర్​లో వచ్చి ఎన్నో మ్యాచ్​ల్ని గెలిపించాడని గుర్తు చేశాడు. రైనాతో పాటు అతడి కుటుంబానికి ఆల్​ ది బెస్ట్ చెప్పాడు.

శనివారం సాయంత్రం ధోనీ రిటైర్మెంట్​ ప్రకటించిన కొన్ని నిమిషాల వ్యవధిలోనే రైనా కూడా అదే బాటలో నడిచాడు. ఇతడి వీడ్కోలును బీసీసీఐ కూడా ఆదివారం ధ్రువీకరించింది.​

2005లో 19 ఏళ్ల వయసులో శ్రీలంకతో వన్డేతో రైనా అంతర్జాతీయ అరంగేట్రం చేశాడు. మొత్తంగా భారత్​ తరఫున 18 టెస్టులు, 226 వన్డేలు, 78 టెస్టులు ఆడాడు.2011 వన్డే ప్రపంచకప్​ బృందంలోనూ సభ్యుడే.

ధోనీ- రైనా 73 వన్డే ఇన్నింగ్స్‌లాడి.. 56.90 సగటుతో 3,585 పరుగులు చేశారు. వన్డేల్లో విజయవంతమైన ఛేదనలో రైనా సగటు 66.41. వన్డేల్లో బ్యాటింగ్‌ ఆర్డర్లో ఐదు, అంతకంటే కింది స్థానాల్లో ఆడినపుడు రైనా 4394 పరుగులు చేశాడు. అతడి కంటే ముందు ధోనీ (8183), యువరాజ్‌ (4809) మాత్రమే ఈ జాబితాలో ఉన్నారు.

టీ20ల్లో తొలి 6వేలు, 8వేల పరుగులు చేసిన భారత మొదటి ఆటగాడు రైనానే. ప్రతి ఫార్మాట్లోనూ సెంచరీ చేసిన తొలి టీమ్​ఇండియా క్రికెటర్‌ కూడా ఇతడే కావడం విశేషం. టీ20 ప్రపంచకప్‌లో సెంచరీ చేసిన ఏకైక భారతీయ ప్లేయర్ రైనానే.
