నిర్ణయాత్మక ఐదో వన్డేలో మొదట బ్యాటింగ్​కు దిగిన ఆస్ట్రేలియా 272 పరుగులు చేసింది. భువనేశ్వర్ మూడు వికెట్లు తీసి ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు.

దిల్లీ వేదికగా జరగుతున్న చివరి వన్డేలో భారత బౌలర్లు చెలరేగారు. ఖవాజా, హాండ్స్​కాంబ్​ మెరుపులతో భారీ స్కోరు చేస్తుందనుకున్న ఆస్ట్రేలియాను కట్టడి చేశారు. వరుసగా వికెట్లు తీస్తూ ప్రత్యర్థి బ్యాట్స్​మెన్​పై ఒత్తిడి పెంచారు. దీంతో 50 ఓవర్లలో 272 పరుగులే చేయగలిగింది ఆసీస్​ జట్టు. భారత్​కు 273 పరుగుల లక్ష్యాన్ని నిర్ధేశించింది.

ఖవాజా మెరుపు శతకం..

ఆస్ట్రేలియా బ్యాటింగ్​లో ఖవాజా ఆటే ప్రధాన ఆకర్షణ. గత మ్యాచ్​లో 91 పరుగులతో ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. ఈ వన్డేలో 100 పరుగులతో అదరగొట్టాడు. తొలి వికెట్​కు ఫించ్​తో కలిసి 76 పరుగుల భాగస్వామ్యం నెలకొల్పాడు. రెండో వికెట్​కు 99 పరుగులు జోడించిందీ ఖవాజా- హ్యాండ్స్​కోంబ్ ద్వయం.

మూడో స్థానంలో వచ్చిన హాండ్స్​కాంబ్ 52 పరుగులు చేసి ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. ఉన్నంత సేపు ధాటిగా ఆడిన ఈ బ్యాట్స్​మెన్ షమీ బౌలింగ్​లో పంత్​కి క్యాచ్​ ఇచ్చి వెనుదిరిగాడు.

వీరిద్దరు మినహా మిగతా బ్యాట్స్​మెన్ తక్కువ పరుగులకే వెనుదిరిగారు. గత మ్యాచ్​ హీరో టర్నర్ 20 పరుగులే చేశాడు. ఫించ్ 27, మాక్స్​వెల్ 1, కారీ 3 పరుగులకే పరిమితమయ్యారు. చివర్లో వచ్చిన కమిన్స్ 15 పరుగులు, రిచర్డ్​సన్ 29 పరుగులు చేసి ఆస్ట్రేలియాకు గౌరవప్రదమైన స్కోరు అందించారు.

Moscovici: "Yes, there were a few chances. The train came once, the train came twice…there were two big votes in the UK parliament. Europeans, the EU did everything they could to offer solutions, guarantees, assurances, reassurances. There was another deal this weekend, what's called the 'backstop' in as far as Ireland is concerned and allows to protect Ireland and protect the single market at the same time. Now it's up to the British after having said what they don't want, to say what they do want."
Journalist: "It's not the first time you are saying this, if I can allow myself to say so, Pierre Moscovici. Last time you came you said it's up to the British to find a solution and to tell us what they want and despite of that Europe negotiated some more. Is this really the last of the last, is the (EU) Commission saying we can't do more?"
Moscovici: "No negotiations will take place in the days to come, until March 29. Now there is the EU Council meeting on March 21 and 22 and that perhaps will have to decide, following other votes in the UK today and tomorrow, that will have to decide on an extension: extension for what reason and for how long? These are the scenarios, but what we need to see is that, after what happened yesterday, there is a considerable risk of what is a called a 'no deal', meaning a disorderly, brutal exit, as if the UK falls off a cliff."

EU Economic Commissioner Pierre Moscovici says Tuesday's vote in the UK parliament increases the chances of a British departure that is "disorderly, brutal, like a cliff".
He added that the EU will not renegotiate the deal before the scheduled Brexit date of 29 March, but said that the EU Council will have to decide whether it sees grounds for any potential extention.
