STORYLINE:
The Sri Lankan capital is reeling after Easter Sunday bomb attacks rocked the island nation and put the usually bustling capital Colombo in a state of fear.
The popular Galle Face oceanside park, which is usually packed with tourists and locals, was almost empty.
A lone man looked at waves splashing the shores of the wounded city.
Many shops remained shut and incomes of people hit.
About 250 people were killed in the string of suicide bombings at churches and luxury hotels in and around the capital, Colombo, Sri Lanka's health ministry said late Thursday.
Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe said on Thursday that people with explosives could still be at large.
Dayan Perera, auto rickshaw driver who has lost half his daily income due to a shortage of passengers, said city has been deeply affected by the attacks.
However, he is hopeful things will rectified in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, as traffic slowly resumed security agencies stopped motorists for checking at various points around the city.
Abdul Azeez Abdul Sattar a 63-year-old muslim autorickshaw driver said people have refused to get on his auto fearing he is a "terrorist" because of his religious faith.
He said his neighbours who would regularly come to his home, have stopped visiting him in the days after the attack.
Fancy shopping boulevards had also turned their shutters down, in fear of another attack.
An Indian worker said he is desperately trying to go back to his home country as, "bombs are going off here everyday."
Diluka Gayashan, who works at a juice bar, said he misses the tourists that Colombo was so used to.
He said he is fearful as explosives were being found everyday.
The attacks were claimed two days later by the Islamic State group, who posted a video of the man Sri Lankan officials say led the attack with seven others pledging their allegiance to the withered caliphate.
Police, meanwhile, issued a public appeal for information about three women and two men suspected of involvement in the attacks.
