The two sides announced the establishment of an intergovernmental steering committee for oil and gas development cooperation and a working group of business communities. Both sides hope that the relevant cooperation can achieve substantive progress at an early date for the benefit of the two peoples and the two countries."

STORYLINE:
China on Wednesday accused the United States of "connivance and support" in helping the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.
Speaking at a daily briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said US influence allowed protesters in the Chinese territory to be "unscrupulous and fearless".
She questioned US lawmakers' decision to introduce a bill to stop America selling riot control equipment to Hong Kong which could be used against the protesters.
"In the future, if what is happening in Hong Kong today takes place in the United States, will those US officials be so 'kind' (to the protesters)? We will wait and see," she said.
Hua said China hoped the next US national security advisor would help promote a "sound and stable development of China-US relations", after John Bolton left the role on Tuesday.
China also announced it would cooperate with the Philippines on an intergovernmental steering committee for offshore oil and gas development which would benefit both sides.
