ప్రముఖ సినీ రచయిత జావేద్ అక్తర్.. ప్రతిష్టాత్మక రిచర్డ్ డాకిన్స్ అవార్డుకు ఎంపికయ్యారు. లౌకికవాదం, హేతువాదం, శాస్త్రీయ సత్యాన్ని సమర్ధించడం వంటి విలువలను బహిరంగంగా ప్రకటించే వ్యక్తులకు ఈ పురస్కారాన్ని ప్రదానం చేస్తారు. 2003లో నెలకొల్పిన ఈ అవార్డును గతేడాది, నటుడు రికీ గెర్వైస్ అందుకున్నారు. అయితే దీనికి ఎంపికైన తొలి భారతీయుడు జావేద్ అక్తర్ కావడం విశేషం.
