గేయ రచయిత జావేద్ అక్తర్​కు ప్రతిష్టాత్మక అవార్డు

ప్రముఖ సినీ గేయ రచయిత జావేద్ అక్తర్.. ప్రతిష్టాత్మక రిచర్డ్ డాకిన్స్ పురస్కారానికి ఎంపికయ్యారు. ఈ అవార్డు అందుకోనున్న తొలి భారతీయుడు ఈయనే కావడం విశేషం.

ప్రముఖ సినీ రచయిత జావేద్​ అక్తర్​.. ప్రతిష్టాత్మక రిచర్డ్ డాకిన్స్ అవార్డుకు ఎంపికయ్యారు. లౌకికవాదం, హేతువాదం, శాస్త్రీయ సత్యాన్ని సమర్ధించడం వంటి విలువలను బహిరంగంగా ప్రకటించే వ్యక్తులకు ఈ పురస్కారాన్ని ప్రదానం చేస్తారు. 2003లో నెలకొల్పిన ఈ అవార్డును గతేడాది, నటుడు రికీ గెర్వైస్ అందుకున్నారు. అయితే దీనికి ఎంపికైన తొలి భారతీయుడు జావేద్ అక్తర్ కావడం విశేషం.

జావేద్.. బాలీవుడ్​లో 'దీవార్', 'జంజీర్', 'షోలే' వంటి అద్భుత చిత్రాలకు స్క్రీన్​ప్లేను అందించారు. ఈయన్ని భారత ప్రభుత్వం 1999లో పద్మశ్రీ, 2007లో పద్మభూషణ్​ బిరుదులతో సత్కరించింది. దీనితో పాటే ఉత్తమ గేయ రచయితగా ఐదు జాతీయ అవార్డులు, సాహిత్య అకాడమీ అవార్డు అందుకున్నారు.
