ఎన్టీఆర్​, ఏఎన్నార్​ ఈల వెనుక లీల ఇదా?

దిగ్గజ నటులు ఎన్టీ‌ఆర్, ఏఎ‌న్నా‌ర్‌లు నటిం‌చిన ఆల్‌టైమ్‌ క్లాసిక్‌ సినిమా 'గుండమ్మకథ'. సావిత్రి, జమునా కథనాయికలు. ఇందులో ఈ స్టార్​ నటుల మధ్య ఓ ఈల సన్నివేశం ఉంటుంది. ఆ సీన్​ ప్రేక్షకులను బాగా ఆకట్టుకుంది. అయితే అది ఎందుకు పెట్టాల్సి వచ్చిందో తెలుసా? దాని వెనుక ఓ చిన్న కథ ఉంది.

'గుండమ్మ కథ'లోని ఓ సన్నివేశంలో ఎన్టీఆర్‌, ఏయన్నార్‌ మధ్య డైలాగ్స్‌ ఉండవు. సీన్​ మొత్తం కేవలం విజిల్స్‌తోనే నడుస్తుంది. సంభాషణా రచయిత డి.వి.నరసరాజు ఆ సీన్‌ను రాశారు. గుండమ్మ ఇంట్లో పనివాడిగా మారు వేషంలో ఉంటాడు ఎన్టీఆర్‌. ఓ రోజు ఆ ఇంటికి తన తమ్ముడు ఏయన్నార్‌ ప్రేయసి (జమున) కోసం వస్తాడు.

"ఇంట్లో నా ప్రేయసి ఉందా?" అని ఎన్టీఆర్‌ని అడుగుతాడు ఏఎన్నార్​.. ఈ విధంగా మొదట సీన్​ రాశాడు రచయిత నరసరాజు. అయితే 'ప్రేయసి' బరువైన మాట అనిపించి, 'ఇంట్లో నా పిట్ట ఉందా?' అని మార్చారట. 'పిట్ట' బాగోలేదని అనుకొని.. 'ఇంటో ఆమె (జమున) ఉందా?' అని స్ఫురించేలా ఏయన్నార్‌ ఈలతో అడిగినట్లు, వెంటనే 'ఉంది' అని ఎన్టీఆర్‌ ఈలతోనే సమాధానం చెప్పినట్టు రచయిత కథ రాశాడు.

ఇంటికి ప్రొడక్షన్‌ కారు రావడం వల్ల నరసరాజు ఆ పూటకి సగం సీన్‌ మాత్రమే రాసి, స్క్రిప్టును తీసుకెళ్లి విజయా స్టూడియోలో చక్రపాణికి చూపించారట. వెంటనే చక్రపాణి విజిల్స్‌తో సంభాషణ బాగుందని, సీన్‌లోని మిగిలిన భాగాన్ని అదే విధంగా కొనసాగించమని అన్నారట. నరసరాజు అలానే రాశారు. హాల్లో జనం అగ్రనటుల విజిల్స్‌ సీన్‌ చూసి చప్పట్లు కొట్టారు. రాసేటప్పుడు రచయిత సరైన మాట దొరక్క ఈల సౌండ్​ను ఆశ్రయిస్తే... ఆ సీన్‌ సూపర్‌ హిట్‌ అయింది.

1962లో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చిన ఈ సినిమా... అగ్రశ్రేణి నటులతో రూపొందిన మల్టీ స్టారర్. సూర్యకాంతం పాత్ర ఆధారంగా ఈ సినిమాకు టైటిల్​ పెట్టారు. హాస్యం, సంగీతం ప్రధానంగా చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించారు దర్శకుడు కమలాకర కామేశ్వరరావు.

"About two years ago, the City of London told Uber that it needed to be more forthcoming in sharing data and particularly concerns about public safety with the background on the drivers, but also the basic transportation data. They fought it out and the transportation agency in London banned Uber but they appealed to a higher court and they were given a temporary waiver to continue operations and then they were given another extension I think this summer. Now in the follow up investigation of how they've addressed the city's demands, the city has concluded that they have not."

"There's an important distinction between the United States and Europe, especially in cities, and that is that in the U.S. we've experienced many decades of disinvestment in the public sphere, including public transportation so people are frustrated with public transportation. But we also have a much higher rate of lower income, low skilled workers in the labor markets of our metropolitan areas and those two things together is what makes Uber work or Lyft. In Europe, you have sustained high investment and public transportation and cycling, compact cities and also a much more extensive health care, labor regulations and things like that. So those have made it more challenging for Uber to get into countries like Denmark and Germany. In both cases, they were rebuffed and told that they had to operate like a transportation company which required paying into the health care system, purchasing licenses, training and turning over the data."

"We want it to be safe and sustainable, professional and reliable then the operators need to be healthy. They need to be alert. They need to be well-trained. They need to know the rules of the road and that takes investment and that costs money and operations. So all transportation at the end of the day is somehow subsidized. Public transportation is subsidized by the public. Uber is subsidized by venture capital, hoping at some point that public transportation or other transportation modes give way to their model."

STORYLINE:
London's transit authority has refused to renew Uber's operating license over concerns about impostor drivers.
The ride-hailing company vowed to appeal the decision as it struggles to secure its future in the British capital.
It's the latest chapter in Uber's rocky history with London transport officials, who have subjected the San Francisco-based tech company to ever tighter scrutiny over concerns about passenger safety and security.
"About two years ago, the City of London told Uber that it needed to be more forthcoming in sharing data and particularly concerns about public safety with the background on the drivers,"
said Jason Henderson, a transportation professor at San Francisco State University.
"Now in the follow up investigation of how they've addressed the city's demands, the city has concluded that they have not," he said.  
Uber has 21 days to file an appeal, which it said it would do.
It can continue operating during the appeals process.
Transport for London cited several breaches that placed passengers and their safety at risk in its decision not to extend Uber's license.
Among other things, regulators said unauthorized drivers carried out thousands of rides.
The denial in a lucrative European market is a big setback for Uber as it struggles to turn a profit.
In the US, safety advocates have criticized Uber for conducting less thorough background checks on drivers than traditional taxi companies, which generally check drivers' fingerprints against databases.
