గ్లోబల్ ఇన్నోవేషన్ ఇండెక్స్ 2019 ర్యాంకింగ్స్లో భారత్ 5 స్థానాలు వృద్ధి చెందింది. 2018లో 57వ స్థానంలో ఉన్న భారత్ ఈ ఏడాది 52వ స్థానానికి ఎగబాకింది.

గ్లోబల్ ఇన్నోవేషన్ ఇండెక్స్ (జీఐఐ)2019 ర్యాంకింగ్స్లో భారత్ 52వ స్థానాన్ని దక్కించుకుంది. జీఐఐ 2018లో సాధించిన 57వ స్థానంతో పోల్చుకుంటే ప్రస్తుతం 5 స్థానాలు వృద్ధి చెందింది భారత్. వాణిజ్య మంత్రి పీయూష్ గోయల్ జీఐఐ ర్యాంకింగ్ను నేడు విడుదల చేశారు.

కార్నెల్ యూనివర్సిటీ, ఐఎన్ఎస్ఈఏడి, ఐరాస ప్రపంచ మేధో సంపత్తి సంస్థ, జీఐఐ భాగస్వాములు సంయుక్తంగా ఈ ర్యాంకులను ప్రతి ఏటా ప్రకటిస్తాయి.
మొబైల్ అప్లికేషన్లు, విద్యారంగానికి కేటాయింపులు, సైన్స్, టెక్నాలజీ ప్లబ్లికేషన్ల ఆధారంగా ఈ ర్యాంకింగ్లను నిర్ణయిస్తారు.

జీఐఐ 2019 ర్యాంకింగ్స్లో స్విట్జర్లాండ్ మరోసారి ప్రథమ స్థానాన్ని సాధించింది. స్వీడన్, అమెరికా, నెదర్లాండ్స్, యూకే, ఫిన్లాండ్, డెన్మార్క్, సింగపూర్, జర్మనీ, ఇజ్రాయెల్ దేశాలు తరువాతి స్థానాల్లో ఉన్నాయి.

The newly-released white paper emphasizes six features of China's national defense compared to the previous white papers, according to a spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense.
The white paper, titled "China's National Defense in the New Era," was released by the State Council Information Office, with a view to helping the international community better understand China's national defense.
It is the 10th white paper on national defense the Chinese government has issued since 1998 and the first comprehensive one since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012.
Spokesman Wu Qian first outlined the purposes and features of the white paper. "The white paper explains the defensive national defense policy in the new era and the practice, purposes and significance of China's efforts to build a solid national defense and a strong military and enhance the understanding of China's national defense by the international community," said Wu at a press conference on Wednesday.
The white paper explains the use of the armed forces in seven aspects: safeguarding the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, maintaining constant war preparedness, conducting real-battle military trainings, safeguarding major security interests, fighting terrorism and maintaining stability, safeguarding overseas interests, and participating in disaster rescue operations.
The white paper also offers detailed information about China's defense expenditure and its structure and basic purposes, showing openness and transparency.
Wu said the new white paper has six unique features compared to the previous ones.
The first feature is that for the first time, the white paper outlines defensive nature of China's national defense policy system in the new era.
The second feature is that for the first time, the white paper explains the missions and tasks of China's armed forces in the new era: providing strategic support for consolidating the leadership of the Communist Part of China (CPC) and the socialist system, for safeguarding national sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, for protecting China's overseas interests, and for promoting world peace and development.
