చైనా స్మార్ట్ఫోన్ దిగ్గజం షియోమీ మరో కొత్త మిడ్రేంజ్ ఫోన్ను విడుదల చేసేందుకు సిద్ధమైంది. రెడ్మీ కే20 సాధించిన విజయంతో అదే శ్రేణిలో మరో ఫోన్ను రెడ్మీ కే30 పేరుతో విడుదల చేయనున్నట్లు పేర్కొంది. గతంలో ఈ ఫోన్ గురించి వచ్చిన అంచనాలకు అనుగుణంగానే.. రెండు సెల్ఫీ కెమెరాలతో (డ్యూయల్ పంచ్ హోల్ కెమెరా), డ్యూయల్ మోడ్ 5జీ సపోర్ట్తో అందుబాటులోకి రానున్నట్లు షియోమీ స్పష్టం చేసింది. ఈ రెండు ఫీచర్లతో వస్తున్న తొలి ఫోన్ ఇదే కావడం విశేషం.

ఈ ఫోన్ను వచ్చే నెల 10న చైనాలో విడుదల చేయనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించింది షియోమీ సంస్థ.

అయితే టెక్ వార్తల సంస్థలు అంచనా వేస్తున్నట్లుగా రెడ్ మీ కే30 ప్రోను అదే రోజు విడుదల చేస్తుందా లేదా అనే విషయంపై షియోమీ స్పష్టతనివ్వలేదు. ఇప్పటి వరకు ఉన్న టెక్ వార్తా సంస్థ సమచారం ప్రకారం రెడ్మీ కే30 ప్రో వచ్చే ఏడాది తొలినాళ్లలో మార్కెట్లోకి వచ్చే అవకాశముంది.

డ్యుయల్ మోడ్ 5జీ అంటే?

5జీ నెట్వర్క్ అనేది చాలా దేశాల్లో ఇంకా ప్రారంభ దశలోనే ఉంది. అయితే చైనా, అమెరికా, బ్రిటన్, జపాన్ వంటి దేశాలు 5జీని విసృతం చేసేందుకు ముమ్మరంగా ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నాయి. కొన్ని దేశాల్లో 5జీ కోసం 4జీ నెట్వర్క్ మౌలిక సదుపాయాల్లోనే మార్పులు చేశారు. దీన్ని 5జీ నాన్ స్టాండ్ అలోన్ యాక్సెస్ (5జీ ఎన్ఎస్ఏ) అని అంటారు. సాధారణ 5జీ నెట్వర్క్ను స్టాండ్ అలోన్ యాక్సెస్ (5జీఎస్ఏ) అంటారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో రెండు రకాల నెట్వర్క్లను వాడేందుకు వీలుగా రెడ్మీ కే30 మోడల్ను షియోమీ ఆవిష్కరించనున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది.

భారత్కు రెడ్మీ కే30?

ఈ ఫోన్ భారత్లో ఎప్పుడు విడుదలవుతుంది అనే విషయంపై షియోమీ స్పష్టతనివ్వలేదు. అయితే భారత్లో ఇప్పటి వరకు 5జీ నెట్వర్క్ దిశగా పెద్దగా అడుగులు పడటం లేదు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చే ఏడాది తొలినాళ్లలో రెడ్మీ కే30 4జీ వెేరియంట్ను భారత్లో విడుదల చేసే అవకాశమున్నట్లు పలు టెక్ వార్తా సంస్థలు అంచనా వేస్తున్నాయి.

"We can use this bus for the last mile. So, you're taking a normal public transport to the city, and then for the last mile you're going to the city center, you can take a little bus like this one. Residents in the Italian alpine town of Merano are testing out a high-tech transport solution that could become the norm in the future.
Organizers of the driverless shuttle trial say autonomous, electric vehicles can help lessen emissions, therefore preserving mountain regions like the Alps.
STORYLINE:
It looks like a regular shuttle, except for one little detail - this fifteen-passenger bus has no driver.
Driverless vehicles, like this one made by French firm Navya, are already being used in over 20 countries.
Residents in the alpine town of Merano are now getting the chance to try out the high-tech transport solution for themselves.
"Its sensors and the satellites help map and read the road in real time," explains Roberto Maldacea, the executive director of I-Mobility Garage, Navya's Italian partner.
"So, it can read a pedestrian, a dog on a leash, a bicycle, a red light and any potentially risky situation."
Merano residents are getting to test the shuttle for a full week by going on short rides, or - for the more adventurous - by crossing in front of the bus to test its emergency braking.
The system is built with safety in mind, claims Maldacea, after allowing a pedestrian to cross in front of the shuttle, which duly stopped to let him pass.
"Naturally, this vehicle doesn't chat, it is not on the phone, it doesn't wave to a person when passing, if the light is yellow, it doesn't accelerate to pass," he says.
The test is part of a three-year European project.
Led by the municipalities of Merano and Brig-Glis in Switzerland, plus technology partners NOI Techpark, Sasa and PostAuto, it's aiming to create new transport solutions for the alpine regions of South Tyrol and Switzerland.
"We have people living on the mountains, they are quite outside of the city center, so normally it's very difficult to organize public transport for going there, and with this bus that you can call or book (with) your mobile phone, it could be a solution to offer public transport, public mobility, to all people living in small alpine regions," says Madeleine Rohrer, who's responsible for mobility at Merano City Government.
The team eventually envisage customers summoning the shuttle with a smartphone app, in addition to regular scheduled routes.
Beyond testing a driverless shuttle, the project includes building and implementing a bike sharing service, creating a platform for carpooling and rethinking the concept of public transport by making it easy, for example, to jump off a bike sharing service onto a driverless electric bus.
"The idea of having a shuttle and not, for example, having a private vehicle that is autonomous is very important also to preserve the environment," says Roberto Cavaliere, who works in the Tech Transfer Digital Unit at NOI Techpark.
"And for us in this alpine region, the environment is one of the key aspects that we have to preserve."
Indeed, here in Merano, nobody questions issues of climate change, but rather how to take action.
"Temperatures are rising here even more than outside of the mountain regions," says Rohrer.
"So, it's even more important that also alpine municipalities engage in this battle against climate change and one of the most important aspects is having mobility with zero emission."
The vehicle does not need a driver, but will have an operator to regulate flow of people on and off the shuttle and - in case of emergency - stop the vehicle or intervene if there's a problem.
After a short drive, Merano resident Otmar Zosin says he's satisfied with the experience.
"It is nice and enjoyable. It is nice to be on it, it's modern, it represents the future, in just a few words, the technology works well as we can see," he says.
It's currently illegal in Italy for driverless vehicles to operate on public roads.
Currently, the shuttle is only authorized to operate on non-urban roads, such as hospitals, university campuses, private companies or in the context of tests, such as this one.
A new law would need to be passed in order for this little shuttle to take passengers to real destinations.
New regulations, if put in place, will likely take a couple of years to be implemented.
Meanwhile residents of Merano will have until December 1 to test it for themselves.
