కల్తీ సారాకు 34 మంది బలి

కల్తీ సారా... ఉత్తరాఖండ్, ఉత్తర్ప్రదేశ్లో తీరని విషాదం మిగిల్చింది. మృతుల్లో అనేక మంది బంధువులే కావడం మరింత దిగ్భ్రాంతికరం.

34మంది ఉసురు తీసిన నాటుసారా, శోకంలో మృతుల బంధువులు

ఉత్తరాఖండ్ హరిద్వార్ పరిధిలోని బలూపూర్ గ్రామంలో విషాదకర సంఘటన జరిగింది. ఆ గ్రామంలో కల్తీ సారా తాగి, రెండు జిల్లాలకు చెందిన 34 మంది మృతి చెందారు. మరో 40 మంది అనారోగ్యం పాలై ఆస్పత్రుల్లో చికిత్స పొందుతున్నారు.

తమ బంధువు పెద్దకర్మ సందర్భంగా గురువారం రాత్రి నిర్వహించిన ఓ కార్యక్రమానికి అనేక మంది హాజరయ్యారు. నాటుసారా సేవించి, వెంటనే అస్వస్థత పాలయ్యారు. 16 మంది బాలూపూర్ గ్రామంలోనే మృతి చెందారు. కార్యక్రమానికి హాజరై తిరిగి వెళుతున్న సమయంలో ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్లోని షహరాన్పూర్లో మరో 18మంది చనిపోయారు.

షహరాన్పూర్లో చనిపోయిన 18మంది మృతుల్లో తొమ్మిది మంది మాత్రమే బలూపూర్లో నాటుసారా సేవించారని ఉత్తరాఖండ్ పోలీసులు తెలిపారు.
ఉత్తరాఖండ్లోని బాలూపూర్లో నాటు సారా విక్రయించిన వ్యక్తే ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్లో షహరాన్పూర్లో అమ్మినట్టు అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు.

ఘటనపై విచారణకు ఆదేశించాయి ఇరు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలు. సిబ్బంది, పోలీసులు మొత్తం 17 మందిని సస్పెండ్ చేసింది ఉత్తరాఖండ్ ప్రభుత్వం. 10 మంది పోలీసులను విధుల నుంచి తప్పించింది యూపీ సర్కారు.

STORYLINE:
Venezuela's president qualified international efforts to bring humanitarian aid into Venezuela "a show" whose sole purpose is to topple the Venezuelan government.
Speaking at a news conference for the international press and broadcast on state television, Nicolas Maduro alleged that the U.S. government of President Donald Trump was "to introduce sources of unrest, of internal chaos".
"They have driven us to the point that Libya was taken or that Syria was taken, to the point of an armed opposition," he said.
Opposition leader Juan Guaido, who requested the international assistance, said it is necessary in a country racked by shortages of food and medicines.
Guaido, who has the backing of some 40 countries, including the United States, is seeking to oust Maduro following a 2018 election that many have denounced as a sham.
Maduro denies a humanitarian crisis exists and says Venezuela is not a country of beggars.
Thursday, a coalition of European and Latin American nations called on Venezuela to hold free and transparent elections to peacefully resolve its crisis.
A majority of 14 countries in the "International Contact Group" urged Venezuela to return to the rule of law and respect its constitutional institutions - starting with the democratically elected National Assembly.
Responding directly to the Group's directive, Maduro had harsh words for the European Union, specifically singling out Federica Mogherini, the EU's foreign policy chief.
"You are deaf," said Maduro.  "The European Union and Federica Mogherini are condemned to failure if they continue to listen, tend to, and obey the Venezuelan extreme right."
Long-time allies Russia and China and several other countries continue to support Maduro.
