సొంత డబ్బుతో 'ప్లాస్టిక్'పై పోరాడుతున్న ప్రజాప్రతినిధి ప్లాస్టిక్ వాడకాన్ని తగ్గించేందుకు ప్రత్యామ్నాయాలపై దృష్టి పెట్టాల్సిన అవసరం ఎంతైనా ఉంది. కర్ణాటక రాయచూర్ జిల్లాలో ఈ దిశగా ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, అధికారులు కృషి చేస్తున్నారు.
సింధనూరు పురపాలక సంఘంలో కౌన్సిలర్ నళిని చంద్రశేఖర్... పట్టణంలోని ప్రజలకు వస్త్రాలతో తయారు చేసిన సంచులను పంచుతున్నారు. ఆమె సొంత డబ్బులు ఖర్చుపెట్టి వస్త్రాలతో చేసిన 600 సంచులను హోసపేట నుంచి తెప్పించారు. వీటిని నళిని సొంత వార్డులో ఉచితంగా పంచిపెట్టారు.
"ప్లాస్టిక్ను నిషేధించేలా ప్రజలకు అవగాహన కల్పిస్తున్నారు నళిని. ఈ విషయం సంతోషాన్నిచ్చింది. ప్లాస్టిక్ కర్మాగారాలపై ప్రభుత్వం నిషేధం విధిస్తే ఎక్కువ ప్రభావం ఉంటుంది. నళిని వల్లనే సింధనూరులో... ప్రధాని మోదీ ప్రతిపాదించిన స్వచ్ఛభారత్ను మొదటిసారి ప్రారంభించగలిగాం. ఆమెకు నా అభినందనలు."

తన వార్డును ప్లాస్టిక్ రహితంగా మార్చాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు నళిని. ఇందుకోసం ఆమె పంచిన సంచులపై 'స్వచ్ఛత వైపు నడుస్తాం' అనే సందేశాన్ని ముద్రించారు.
లాభాలు...
ఈ సంచులతో చాలా లాభాలున్నాయి. చాలా ఏళ్లు మన్నికనిస్తాయి. ఇందులో 10 నుంచి 15 కిలోల బరువును మోసుకెళ్లవచ్చు. వస్త్రంతో చేసిన సంచులు పర్యావరణ హితమైనవి. నూలు వస్త్రాలతో చేయటం వల్ల వీటిని రీసైకిల్ కూడా చేయవచ్చు.
పర్యావరణానికి ప్లాస్టిక్ చేసే హానిపైనా ప్రజలకు నళిని అవగాహన కల్పిస్తుండటం విశేషం. ఆమె ప్రయత్నాన్ని పలువురూ మెచ్చుకుంటున్నారు.
