పార్లమెంట్పై దాడిలో అమరులైన వీరులకు నివాళులర్పించారు రక్షణ మంత్రి రాజ్నాథ్ సింగ్. వారి ధైర్యసాహసాలను భవిష్యత్తు తరాలు సైతం కీర్తిస్తాయని ట్వీట్ చేశారు. పార్లమెంట్ను కాపాడేందుకు తమ ప్రాణాలు అర్పించిన భద్రతా సిబ్బంది శౌర్యానికి సెల్యూట్ చేస్తున్నట్లు చెప్పారు.
2001 డిసెంబర్ 13న సాయుధ ఇస్లామిక్ ఉగ్రవాదులు భారత పార్లమెంట్పై దాడి చేశారు. వారిని భద్రతా దళాలు సమర్థవంతంగా ఎదుర్కొని, దాడిలో పాల్గొన్న మొత్తం ఐదుగురు ఉగ్రవాదుల్ని హతమార్చాయి. ఈ దుర్ఘటనలో ఐదుగురు దిల్లీ పోలీసులు, ఒక సీఆర్పీఎఫ్ మహిళతో పాటు ఇద్దరు పార్లమెంట్ భద్రతా సిబ్బంది, ఒక తోటమాలి సహా మొత్తం తొమ్మిది మంది అమరులయ్యారు.
