ఏపీజే అబ్దుల్ కలాం జయంతి సందర్భంగా ఇవాళ ప్రముఖులు నివాళులు అర్పించారు. రాష్ట్రపతిగా, శాస్త్రవేత్తగా దేశానికి ఆయన చేసిన సేవలు ఎనలేనివని ప్రధాని మోదీ కీర్తించారు. ప్రతి భారతీయుడికి ఆయన ప్రేరణగా నిలుస్తారని ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి వెంకయ్య అన్నారు. స్వయం సమృద్ధ భారతదేశాన్ని నిర్మించాలని కలాం ఎల్లప్పుడూ కోరుకునేవారని కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి అమిత్ షా ట్వీట్ చేశారు.

ప్రజల రాష్ట్రపతి..

1931 అక్టోబర్ 15న తమిళనాడులోని రామేశ్వరంలో అబ్దుల్ కలాం జన్మించారు. 2002-2007 మధ్య భారత 11వ రాష్ట్రపతిగా సేవలందించారు. రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్ సందర్శన కోసం ప్రజలకు అనుమతినిచ్చారు. పార్టీలకతీతంగా అన్ని వర్గాలకు దగ్గరై ప్రజల రాష్ట్రపతిగా కీర్తి గడించారు. రాష్ట్రపతిగా తన పదవీకాలం ముగిసిన తర్వాత కూడా దేశవ్యాప్తంగా పర్యటించి కొత్త తరానికి మార్గనిర్దేశనం చేశారు. 2015లో గుండెపోటుతో తుది శ్వాస విడిచారు.
