"The NPC is going to be very important. China itself has become a beacon of development for the world. The Belt and Road Initiative is something that has become a model for how countries can move from poverty, and misery, and underdevelopment to become developing, creative and industrial powers. And this is why the Belt and Road Initiative has won so much support among the nations of the world, especially among the developing countries."

"This notion that President Xi had implemented, as a community of common destiny, that is more I think powerful and more successful and more appropriate, because we are living on one globe. The problems that we're facing are facing all of us. To try and find a common denominator, that common interests in which we can perceive further, and leaving behind us this whole idea of geopolitics of winner-take-all."

"China has been in the process of trying to develop a path for becoming a major developing country. In fact the attempts to impose an American model or a European model on China is not very successful. But I think with the development of Xi Jinping thought, you have come to a point where China has found a path which includes, if successful, industrial policy, but also an openness to the world."

China has become a beacon of development for the world, especially for developing countries, said an American expert after reading the government work report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on Tuesday to the second session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC).
The expert, William Jones, is the Washington Bureau chief of the Executive Intelligence Review. He said that the policy signals released during "two sessions" for further pushing the building of Belt and Road are beneficial to the international society, especially developing countries.
"The NPC is going to be very important. China itself has become a beacon of development for the world. The Belt and Road Initiative is something that has become a model for how countries can move from poverty, and misery, and underdevelopment to become developing, creative and industrial powers. And this is why the Belt and Road Initiative has won so much support among the nations of the world, especially among the developing countries," said Jones.
Jones said: "This notion that President Xi had implemented, as a community of common destiny, that is more I think powerful and more successful and more appropriate, because we are living on one globe. The problems that we're facing are facing all of us. To try and find a common denominator, that common interests in which we can perceive further, and leaving behind us this whole idea of geopolitics of winner-take-all."
Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed efforts to maintain strategic resolve in enhancing the building of an ecological civilization during a panel discussion with his fellow deputies from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at this year's NPC session.
