6. SOUNDBTIE (English)Alie Kabba, Sierra Leone's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation:
"It is a time when the focus on peace and security in Africa is the center stage in the AU's effort to make sure that Africa becomes a continent where there is no conflict and we have the capacity to prevent and resolve conflicts. So it is an opportunity of having China and Africa around the table to talk about peace and security in Africa. It is a demonstration of the deep partnership between the two sides. We welcome this initiative because it shows the long-term commitment of China to making sure that Africa, as a continent, is going to focus on long-term development and, therefore, the focus on peace and security is part of the effort to create the conditions for the rapid acceleration of the pace of development in Africa."
