ജോര്‍ജ് ഫ്ലോയിഡിന്‍റെ മരണത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് അമേരിക്കയില്‍ നിന്നും ലോകം മുഴുവന്‍ അലയടിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ ബ്ലാക്ക് ലൈഫ്‌സ് മാറ്റര്‍ പ്രക്ഷോഭത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി ഹാമില്‍ട്ടണ്‍ മാറിയിരുന്നു. കുട്ടികള്‍ ഒരിക്കലും സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങളെ കൈവിടരുതെന്നും സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങല്‍ യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യമാക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ താന്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഉദാഹരണമാണെന്നും ഹാമില്‍ട്ടണ്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വലിയ സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ കാണണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
വംശീയതയുടെ പേരില്‍ അധ്യാപകരും രക്ഷിതാക്കളും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ തന്നെ നിരുത്സാഹപ്പെടുത്തി. അപ്പോഴും സ്വപ്‌നവുമായി മുന്നോട്ട് പോകാന്‍ സാധിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇക്കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ പറയാന്‍ കാരണം അന്ന് തനിക്കെതിരെ സംസാരിച്ചവര്‍ തെറ്റാണെന്ന് പറയാനാണെന്നും ഹാമില്‍ട്ടണ്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വരുന്ന തലമുറ ഇതേ രീതി തുടരാതിരിക്കാനാണ് ഹാമില്‍ട്ടണിന്‍റെ തുറന്ന് പറച്ചില്‍.
