ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆದ್ದ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ 'ರೈತ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಆಂತರಿಕ ವಿಷಯ, ಇದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಹೊರಗಿನವರು ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಬಾರದು' ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ಹೊರೆಡಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್ನ ಹಲವು ತಾರೆಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟಿಗರು #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda ಎಂಬ ಹ್ಯಾಶ್ಟ್ಯಾಗ್ ಬಳಸಿ ಟ್ವೀಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು.
