'2020 ఒలింపిక్స్ తర్వాత వైదొలగుతా'
2020 టోక్యో ఒలింపిక్స్ తర్వాత రిటైర్మెంట్ ప్రకటిస్తానని భారత స్టార్ బాక్సర్ మేరీకోమ్ తెలిపింది. విశ్వక్రీడల్లో సత్తాచాటి స్వర్ణం నెగ్గుతానని ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం వ్యక్తం చేసింది.

టోక్యో ఒలింపిక్స్ తర్వాత రిటైర్మెంట్ ప్రకటిస్తానని తెలిపింది భారత స్టార్ బాక్సర్ మేరీ కోమ్. 2020 విశ్వక్రీడల్లో స్వర్ణాన్ని నెగ్గి కెరీర్ను దిగ్విజయంగా ముగిస్తానని చెప్పింది. 18 ఏళ్ల బాక్సింగ్ కెరీర్లో ఆరు సార్లు ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్షిప్ను గెల్చుకుంది మేరీ.
"2020 ఒలింపిక్స్ తర్వాత రిటైరవుతాను. టోక్యోలో భారత తరపున పసిడి గెలిచి విరమించుకుంటాను. దేశానికి బంగారు పతకాన్ని అందించడానికే ఎప్పుడూ ప్రయత్నిస్తాను. ప్రస్తుతం విశ్వ క్రీడలకు సన్నద్ధమయ్యేందుకు తగినంత సమయముంది" - మేరీ కోమ్, బాక్సర్
2012 ఒలింపిక్స్లో కాంస్యం నెగ్గింది మేరీకోమ్. 2016 రియో ఒలింపిక్స్కు అర్హత సాధించడంలో విఫలమైన మేరీ 48 కేజీల విభాగానికి మారింది. ప్రస్తుతం 51 కేజీల విభాగంలో పోటీ పడుతోంది. ఐదు సార్లు ఆసియన్ ఛాంపియన్గా అవతరించిందీ మణిపుర్ మణిపూస.
