భారత స్టార్ షూటర్ మనుబాకర్... ఇటీవల బ్రెజిల్లో జరిగిన షూటింగ్ ప్రపంచకప్ డబుల్స్ విభాగంలో పసిడి గెలిచింది. వచ్చే ఏడాది టోక్యో ఒలింపిక్స్ కోసం తీవ్రంగా శ్రమిస్తోంది. యావత్ దేశం ఈ క్రీడాకారిణి పతకం తెస్తుందని గంపెడు ఆశలు పెట్టుకుంది. తాజాగా ఈటీవీ భారత్ ఆమెను పలకరించింది.

హర్యానాలోని జజ్జర్లో పుట్టిన మనుబాకర్.. నేడు దేశం గర్వించే స్థాయికి ఎదిగింది. 17 ఏళ్ల వయసులోనే ఒలింపిక్స్లో భారత్కు స్వర్ణం తెచ్చేందుకు సిద్ధమవుతోంది. ఈ మెగాటోర్నీలో భాగంగా నవంబర్ 17న జరగనున్న పుతియన్ ప్రపంచకప్ ఫైనల్స్ కోసం సన్నాహాల్లో ఉన్న ఈ స్టార్ షూటర్తో ఈటీవీ భారత్ ముఖాముఖి..

ఎలా వచ్చిందంటే...?

మనుబాకర్.. గతంలో మార్షల్ ఆర్ట్స్, బాక్సింగ్, టెన్నిస్, స్కేటింగ్ వంటి పలు క్రీడల్లో ప్రావీణ్యం సంపాదించింది. అయితే వాటన్నింటిని కాదని.. అనుకోకుండా షూటింగ్లోకి వచ్చినట్లు చెప్పింది.

ఇప్పటివరకు వివిధ ప్రపంచకప్ల్లో 6 స్వర్ణాలు సహా కామన్వెల్త్లోనూ పసిడి సొంతం చేసుకుంది మను. చిన్న వయసులోనే ఇంత గొప్ప స్థాయికి ఎదగడం వెనుక కష్టపడే తత్వంతో పాటు ప్రశాంతమైన మనస్సుతో ఉండటం, ఎంత ఎదిగినా ఒదిగి ఉండే లక్షణాలే ఆమెను ప్రత్యేకంగా మార్చాయి.

ఇదే ఏడాది మ్యూనిచ్లో జరిగిన ఏషియన్ గేమ్స్లో ఆమె పిస్తోల్ సరిగ్గా పనిచేయకపోవడం వల్ల ప్రపంచ రికార్డు సాధించే అవకాశం కోల్పోయింది. ప్రస్తుతం కఠోర శిక్షణలో ఉన్న మను... 2020 టోక్యో ఒలింపిక్స్లో మాత్రం కచ్చితంగా సత్తా చాటుతానని ధీమా వ్యక్తం చేసింది.

"Good afternoon everyone. Thanks for joining me. I'm about to hop on a plane to head back to Washington, I'll have the opportunity to brief the president on the conversations that I had with the crown prince in Saudi Arabia as well as Mohammed bin Zayed just a few minutes ago. We have good productive conversations. I was sent here to work to make sure that I understood how our friends and allies here in the region for viewing the challenge and the threats posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran. I certainly accomplished that. And I think I'll be able to give the president some important information about how it is we should think about proceeding. With that I'm happy to take a couple questions.
(Reporter question:) Mr. Secretary, did you gather any new evidence that shows who is behind the attacks and do you think you have a slam dunk case to bring to the U.N. next week?
I think it's abundantly clear and there is an enormous consensus in the region that we know precisely who conducted these attacks was Iran. I didn't hear anybody in the region who doubted that for a single moment.
(Reporter question:) Given Zarif's comments today about an act of all out war, does that change the calculation and do you think there's an opportunity for some sort of peaceful resolution to this?
Certainly that's what President Trump, it's what America always wants, we'd like a peaceful resolution. I think we've demonstrated that. You know, they've taken down an American UAV and have now conducted the largest attack on the globe's energy an awfully long time. And we are still striving to build out a coalition. I was here in an act of diplomacy while the foreign minister of Iran is threatening all out war to fight to the last American. We're here to build out a coalition aimed at achieving peace and a peaceful resolution of this. That's my mission set. That's what President Trump certainly wants me to work to achieve. And I hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran sees it the same way. There's, there's no, there's no evidence of that from his statement. But I hope that that's the case."

"There will be more sanctions. We, we have set about a course of action to deny Iran the capacity and the wealth so that they can conduct their, to prevent them from conducting their terror campaigns. And you can see from the events of last week, there's still more work to do, we're going to continue to drive towards that end. You cannot fail to see the failed policy of giving money to this regime by what happened in Saudi Arabia. Right? The previous administration chose to give 150 billion dollars, there are still those today who think boy, if we just give Iran just a little bit more money they'll become a peaceful nation. We can see that that does not work. And so the president's direction to us to continue to prevent them having the capacity to underwrite Hezbollah Shia militias in Iraq, their own missile program, all the things that they have done to pose a threat to the world, that's the mission that with economic sanctions."
4. Pompeo walks away
STORYLINE:
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Thursday it's "abundantly clear and there is an enormous consensus in the region that" Iran was behind last weekend's attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil processing facility and field.
Pompeo made the remarks after meeting with Abu Dhabi's powerful crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Earlier Thursday, America's top diplomat met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jiddah.
The conversations with both leaders focused on how to respond to Saturday's attack, which halved the kingdom's oil production.
Yemen's Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have claimed respobsibility for the attack, but the U.S. alleges Iran carried out the assault. Pompeo told journalists the U.S. is not alone in that assessment, insisting he "didn't hear near anybody in the region who doubted that for a single moment."
The Trump administration has been noncommittal on whether the U.S. would order military retaliation. It announced separately Wednesday that it is moving to increase financial sanctions on Tehran over the attack, without elaborating.
Iran's top diplomat, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, warned Thursday that any attack on his country over a drone-and-missile strike on Saudi Arabia's oil industry will spark an "all-out war."
Asked about those remarks, Pompeo dismissed them saying only, "I was here (doing) active diplomacy while the foreign minister of Iran is threatening all-out war to fight to the last American."
The UAE said Thursday it had joined a U.S.-led coalition to protect waterways across the Middle East after the attack in Saudi Arabia.
The state-run WAM news agency quoted Salem al-Zaabi of the Emirati Foreign Ministry as saying the UAE joined the coalition to "ensure global energy security and the continued flow of energy supplies to the global economy."
Saudi Arabia joined the coalition on Wednesday. Australia, Bahrain and the United Kingdom also are taking part.
