చైనా ఓపెన్​: పతకమే లక్ష్యంగా బరిలోకి సింధు

మంగళవారం నుంచి మొదలయ్యే చైనా ఓపెన్​లో పతకం సాధించాలనే పట్టుదలతో బరిలోకి దిగుతున్నారు భారత స్టార్ షట్లర్లు పీవీ సింధు, సైనా నెహ్వాల్. టైటిల్​ సాధించడంపై ఇరు షట్లర్లు ఆశాభావం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

పీవీ సింధు

ఇటీవలే ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్​షిప్​లో విజేతగా నిలిచి... ఆ ఘనత సాధించిన తొలి భారత షట్లర్​గా అవతరించింది పీవీ సింధు. ఇప్పుడు మరో పతకం దక్కించుకుని సీజన్​ ముగించాలని చూస్తోంది. మంగళవారం ప్రారంభమయ్యే చైనా ఓపెన్​లో సత్తా చాటాలని ఆశిస్తోంది.

మరో పతకంపై కన్నేసిన సింధు

తన తొలి మ్యాచ్​లో చైనాకు చెందిన లీ యురైతో తలపడనుంది సింధు. ప్రస్తుతం 20వ ర్యాంకులో ఉన్న లీకి.. సింధుపై 3-3 రికార్డు ఉంది. ఈ ఏడాది ఇప్పటికే ఇండోనేషియా మాస్టర్స్​లో ఈ క్రీడాకారిణిని ఓడించిన సింధుకు ఈ మ్యాచ్​ కష్టం కాకపోవచ్చు. ఇందులో ఆమె గెలిస్తే, అనంతరం మిచెల్లీ లీతో ఆడనుంది. అన్ని మ్యాచ్​లు సవ్యంగా సాగి, సింధు విజయాలు సాధిస్తే క్వార్టర్స్​లో మూడో సీడ్​ ప్లేయర్ చెన్ యూఫీతో పోటీ పడొచ్చు.

ప్రపంచ 8వ ర్యాంకర్​ సైనా నెహ్వాల్.. గాయాల నుంచి కోలుకుని ఈ టోర్నీకి సిద్ధమైంది. ఈ సీజన్​లో ఇప్పటికే ఇండోనేషియా మాస్టర్స్​ టైటిల్ నెగ్గిన ఈ షట్లర్​... ఇందులోనూ రాణించాలని చూస్తోంది. తొలి రౌండ్​లో థాయ్​లాండ్​కు చెందిన బుసనన్​తో తలపడనుంది సైనా. మాజీ ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్ తైజు యింగ్​తో క్వార్టర్స్​లో పోటీ పడనుంది.

స్టార్ షట్లర్లు పునరాగమనం

వరల్డ్​ టూర్​ సీజన్​లో చైనా ఓపెన్​ చివరి సూపర్ 1000 ఈవెంట్. గాయాల నుంచి కోలుకున్న ప్రముఖ షట్లర్లు కరోలినా మారిన్, విక్టర్ ఆలెక్సన్ ఈ టోర్నీతో తిరిగి కోర్టులో అడుగుపెట్టనున్నారు.

గాయాల కారణంగా భారత ఆటగాళ్లు కిదాంబి శ్రీకాంత్, ప్రణయ్.. ఇప్పటికే ఈ టోర్నీ నుంచి తప్పుకున్నారు. అందరి కళ్లు సాయి ప్రణీత్​పైనే ఉన్నాయి. ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్​షిప్​లో 36 ఏళ్ల తర్వాత పతకం సాధించాడు. ఇప్పుడు చైనా ఓపెన్​లోనూ రాణించాలని చూస్తున్నాడు.

"Why? All of them enjoyed a quite high level of salaries. I have told them time and time again that the salary level of Fuyao should be competitive in the region. You could set it ten percent higher than the regional level, but they applied the lowest salary level in the region for the workers."

"It is not that I don't want to hire the young people. It is that I couldn't find young people. I also candidly told the Americans that it is dangerous for an industry to have difficulty in finding young workers. It is a sad thing. So we the Chinese should avoid such a situation in which industries find it hard to find young workers. Our president and central committee of the Chinese Communist Party have been promoting the real economy, which is a right measure."

The documentary American Factory provides important lessons as well as experience for promote real economy, according to Cao Dewang, chairman of Fuyao Group, a Chinese auto glass manufacturer.
The documentary, premiering in August on Netflix, is the first film funded by former U.S. first couple Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions.
It takes a look into what happened after Fuyao Group took over an abandoned General Motors plant in Dayton, Ohio, and hired around 2,000 workers.
Cao said all the content of the documentary is true, without any modification during an program with China Central Television (CCTV).
"I asked the director how he produced the film, he said he produced a documentary and asked me whether I know about documentary. I said: 'Yes, it means documenting the facts and you will broadcast whatever you shoot.' He replied yes and said he recorded whatever he saw and broadcast whatever he recorded. I said: 'Of course, no problem. It is also our responsibility to help you gain a understanding on China,'" said Cao.
Cao clearly expressed his objection to have labor union in his factory; however, he cares a lot about the welfare of his workers.
To deal with the union issue in his factory, he flew to the U.S. every month to investigate what went wrong and what was needed.
"Later I found there were problems at the managing level and fired all the managers you could see in the documentary who were having a meeting with me.Why? All of them enjoyed a quite high level of salaries. I have told them time and time again that the salary level of Fuyao should be competitive in the region. You could set it ten percent higher than the regional level, but they applied the lowest salary level in the region for the workers," said Cao.
Cao also found that many workers are at the same upper-middle age like him, which he considered a serious problem for the industry and an important lesson for Chinese companies to go overseas.

So we the Chinese should avoid such a situation in which industries find it hard to find young workers.
