STORYLINE:
Chinese Finance Minister said tax cuts on a larger scale is "the top priority" among positive financial policies in 2019 amid the country's economic slowdown and a trade spat with the United States.
Liu Kun, China's Finance Minister, said during a press conference on the sidelines of the National People's Congress on Thursday that the proposed tax cuts is set up to two trillion yuan (300 billion US dollars) aiming to supporting the development of micro and small businesses.
The ministry also pushed the budget deficit from 2.6 percent of total economic output to 2.8 percent, an amount of 2.76 trillion yuan (400 billion US dollars).
Two days ago at the opening of the annual legislative session, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced this year's growth rate at 6 to 6.5 percent, reflecting determination to shore up a cooling state-dominated economy and prevent politically dangerous job losses.
